Customer Questions & Answers

Is this stand compatible to use with the portable DW745 table saw?

Asked by: LT23
YES. The saw mounts on clamps that can easily be removed from the stand. (The mounts have rubber footings) This means that you could buy extra mounts and use it for a miter saw stand too.

What is the height of the "stand"?

I know the description says 36", but is that the top of the stand or the height of the top of the saw after mounting? It would seem if that if it's indeed 36" and your average saw is 12" to 13" inches high, this stand is way too tall.
Asked by: Frank
Fully assembled this stand measures 22" high and needs a high profile table saw to be able to use it comfortably. Most 10" and 12" table saws should work but its not tall enough for any other applications such and Miter or compound miter saws

I needed a rolling stand on which to mount my DWE7480 table saw and bought the DW7440RS stand. Its construction is high-quality and durable, and it assembled with minimal effort. I encountered one problem after assembly: The diameter of the supplied hex bolts was a tad too large for the standard mounting holes in the 7480's tubular base. I didn't want to risk deforming that base by drilling out the holes, so I contacted DeWalt online support. About an hour later a support representative phoned and advised me to remove the saw's rubber feet and use the now-open mounting holes to insert the hex bolts. The solution worked. The 7480 is now mounted securely, and saw operation on the stand is rock-stable. As a consequence, and despite the minimal hex-bolt-size inconvenience, I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should have bought this stand 12 years ago ! After 12 years I was finally tired of picking up my DeWalt DW744 table saw. I looked at all the available stands from $100-$600 and DeWalts DW7440RS rolling stand provided the best features and function. The stand took less than 10 minutes to assemble and mount the saw. The fact that the legs do not have wheels on them is actually a huge benefit compared to competitors wheeled stands. The splayed rear legs make this stand rock solid even when cutting full sheets of plywood by myself. I can now roll the saw any place I want and have it setup in a matter of minutes ready to work.

I had to drill the leg mounts out to accommodate the bolts that fit on the rails, or you can buy other bolts that fit the hole in the saw leg.It worked out great drilling out the mount on the saw. Love the height and strength of this stand. It's to bad Ridgig doesn't make a stand for my saw.

Not too hard to set up and easy to roll even when the table saw is attached. Wish I could've found them both together instead of separate. The stand is sturdy and has a lot of handy features. I am enjoying these gifts from my wife. <Smile>
