Answer:
YES. The saw mounts on clamps that can easily be removed from the stand. (The mounts have rubber footings) This means that you could buy extra mounts and use it for a miter saw stand too.

If you check my picture you will see that this is the very same saw you asked about. You can attach the brackets without plywood BUT if you use the saw without the stand it could tip over EASILY.
NOT RECOMMENDED and SORRY the saw can only be purchased with the cheap scissor stand as far as I've seen. You picked the right saw and this is the stand you want to use with it.

When disconnected from the stand these units are highly portable. Under 60lbs. each piece??? Stand may be a little heavier.

Yes - it works just fine. I have this same configuration and love it. Just note that you will need to remove the rubber feet from the saw's cage and use those holes when mounting it to the stand's mounting brackets. This isn't mentioned in the stand's instructions.

If you do go with this stand, you need to remove the rubber feet from the saw's cage to mount it to the stand's removable brackets. This is not mentioned in the instructions for the stand. It might be in the saw's, but I couldn't find mine.

Heavy Duty Rolling Table Saw Stand is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 123.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, well built product This stand is a perfect matchup for Dewalts jobsite tablesaw. I made my own outfeed table. The combination of the two adds up to increased output and safety.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A suitable table saw stand The assembly instructions could have used a beta tester. For example there were instructions that referred to the front or the back of the stand- but nothing in either the text or the diagrams that identified which was which. By assuming that the manufacturer's logo would be on the front you get the right answer. Once assembly was complete the stand appeared perfectly functional. Fold-up of the legs is easier than on the stand it replaced (an old Rigid model), and when in use it seems perfectly stable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product! This portable table saw stand works perfectly. I have an older table saw and was tired of trying to move/carry it from locations given the ackward base. The fixed base was difficult to carry and transport. This new stand was very easy to assemble, is of excellent quality and the wheels make it very easy to transport. I wish I would have invested in this product long before now. The price was very reasonable. Great Job HD, you've hit the mark with this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, easy to set up. I found the stand sturdy and easy to set up. I like that the mounting brackets bolt to the saw and quick release from the base for easy and quick set-up. NOTE: if you are using this with the DWE7480 Job site saw (or similar) you need to remove the rubber feet from the saw's cage and use those holes to mount to the stand's brackets. It took me a moment to figure this out (it's not mentioned in the stand's instructions, but I understand why given it's a universal stand). I read a few reviews of people drilling new holes which is not how you do it! Hope this helps someone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I should of bought this sooner! I got tired of carrying my saw around on jobs. This table saw stand is built extremely well. The legs click in place and stand up to anything providing you a safe job. The hight seems just right too. I found the price seems best just buying it through HD. I got a percentage off also as I bought it on a holiday. Ebay may save you a few bucks by buying from someone who is getting rid of it...but in the end, who are they?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should have bought this stand 12 years ago ! After 12 years I was finally tired of picking up my DeWalt DW744 table saw. I looked at all the available stands from $100-$600 and DeWalts DW7440RS rolling stand provided the best features and function. The stand took less than 10 minutes to assemble and mount the saw. The fact that the legs do not have wheels on them is actually a huge benefit compared to competitors wheeled stands. The splayed rear legs make this stand rock solid even when cutting full sheets of plywood by myself. I can now roll the saw any place I want and have it setup in a matter of minutes ready to work.

It seemed that every time I wanted to use my table saw I had to "drag" it out on the stand that came with the saw. I kept it on the stand because I didn't have room in my garage closet to "put it away" easily. I was at the Home Depot a few weeks back and saw this stand being used on a display model. It looked like the perfect solution so I went online to look up the reviews. Everyone was saying how much they enjoyed the rolling stand and how simple it was to assemble. It seemed like the perfect solution to my problem. I ordered it online and it was delivered within the week. It took only about a half hour to assemble with very minimal tools. Once assembled the saw was simple to attach and easy to position wherever I need to put it to work. The stand is very well made and sturdy and should last as long as the saw will. I would recommend this for anyone who needs a good saw stand but is limited on storage space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect stand I was shopping for a stand and was a little hesitant because of a couple negative reviews. I was concerned that it would be too low when set up but I am very happy with the working height It has now been over a month of using this and I couldn't be happier with this stand. The stand is light weight yet when it is set up it is rock solid. I really like the bars that mount to the saw. You simply grip the release and squeeze and the saw comes right off the stand which is great for packing up the job site. I would like to purchase an extra set of quick release bars to mount my thickness plainer but at 80 bucks!! I may just purchase another stand I will agree with other reviews that the wheels could be a little better and can see where that would be the first part to wear out. But I will not be taking it on a 5k run so it should do fine for what it is designed for and it should last for years. I would highly recommend this stand
