Answer:
50 feet in this kit, but additional hose can be purchased at home depot fairly inexpensively, and there are connectors that allow you to connect multiple hoses.

You can also buy a bag of extensions for about $3 to connect 2 pieces. I use a round tip staple gun staple or "c" clamps ( in the pipe isle bottom shelf) to attach as I have it going around the house at chest height to give window boxes and hanging baskets better water pressure. I also use drip and inverted heads depending on plant watering needs. You can also purchase a container that you put Fertilizer pellets in that will attach to the system, about $11. Remember do not attach brass and plastic parts it will actually break the brass piece ( not the plastic). Hope this helps. Wish I knew all this prior. Also heat up a cup of water (2 min.) microwave and dip parts in water and they will slide together very quick and easy. Read Less

For the thicker hose that feeds the smaller ones that branch off, could you cover it with mulch so only the little hoses are showing? I don't like the look of all the black hose everywhere...

Answer:
Yes, you can cover the 1/2" main line with mulch. I just finished running all of my lines and attaching the 1/4" lines. My garden consists of raised beds and has thick mulch between the beds. The main lines run along the outside of the raised beds and the 1/4" lines come up and over the beds. Just make sure you have everything connected before you start covering with mulch. ;)

I have 2 rain barrels with only about 3 feet of head pressure between the spigot and my garden. Regular hose works fine but garden suffers if I'm out of town for a couple days and can't water it.

Answer:
Not sure this product would work given this particular situation. Product appears to be designed to connect to a garden hose or water line. That said, one could try and just purchase a few minimal parts and give it a try. Everything in the kit can be purchased individually. Kit just makes it easier.

Drip Irrigation Watering Kit is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 74.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING These kits go together so easy its amazing. All you have to do is cut to length, push the hose into the fittings, position and punch the holes on the main tube, and fit the drip lines into those holes. The one thing I did experience was a bit of difficulty pushing the 1/4" tube onto the hose barbs. My simple solution was my automatic torch with a quick burst of heat to soften the end of the tube. I'm sure a candle would work easy as well, you just have to get the feel for how much heat you need. I slapped a timer on this and am golden!! I am going to hook these systems up to everything I need watered in the yard. It just doesn't get any easier.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Might as well buy a sprinker After spending an hour or so and lots of cramped hands assembling (which I expected, based on other reviews), I turned it on to find that the backflow preventer sprayed water out in a jet. It looks like it is designed that way to prevent too much pressure running through the lines. I ended up just buying a sprinkler to water my pots while I was away. At least that way, I could direct all the water that was spraying out of the hose.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ALMOST everything you need Great kit. Comes with almost everything you need; connectors for a faucet or rain barrel, ½in hose, ¼in hose and 24 drip emitters. There is one thing that there is just not enough of, ways to connect the ¼ hose to the ½in. The drip irrigation system I laid out has the main line (½in hose) running thru a flower bed with ¼in hoses attached going to the drip emitters at each plant. The kit includes 2 straight and 2 tee connecters to attach the ¼in hose to the ½in hose. That allows for 6 emitters. How do you connect the other 18 emitters provided? I had to search and find a HD that had the connectors in stock. Not convenient. Overall a good kit but buy additional ¼in connectors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy, Economical, Excellent I just purchased this item and did not know much about drip irrigation. I recently started a garden in my yard and was tired of watering every plant by hand. I noticed the drip all-in-one kit at my local store and became very interested in it because of the price and the amount of time it would free up watering the garden. To my surprise, I got the system together in less than a half hour. There was no special modification needed to my water supply line. Everything is included in the kit and the drip system is all plug and play. The system has a 1GPH drip system. This is more than enough for my vegetable garden. All done and said, I am getting another kit for the rose bushes in my yard. Great value, Great ease of operation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great system Works great off my two rain barrels. Will add another star if it survives a few summers, so far no complaints. A little tough on the fingers to put together, so i wouldn't recommend it to some one older w arthritis. I'm almost 40 and my hands were soar the next day after doing something like 45 drip heads and connecting the lines which was a lot. Maybe they'll invent a tool for that. I bought extra adjustable heads bc my rain barrel system is low pressure, and they work great. Now that my two systems are in, i turn them on every couple days, and all my plamts are watered. Been 2 months, and really happy so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easiest setup ever It took me longer to open the box and sort out the components than it did to actually install. The kit comes with every thing needed to do a simple drip irrigation setup. I have a flower bed with various plants, the included instructions state which drip fitting to use and how much space is needed between each. That's as simple as it gets. Punch a few holes in the hose where needed, attach the drip fitting, and done. I think it took me longer to type and proofread this entry than it did to setup the drip irrigation using this kit.
