Regarding square feet - I would refer to the manufacturer specs. I only use them in closets and a utility/storage room. When they are full at the bottom and there are not many granules left at the top, I change them out. Read Less

It really depends on the environment, what you have in the space and time of year. I actually had a 3 x 4 closet that I went thru 2 a month, but it was jammed with clothing and shoes and had 2 outside, plaster walls. We had another closet int he same house that my husband used (not so jammed and only one wall was an outside wall) and never had to use one in there. Someone said one took care of an entire Read More

We had another closet int he same house that my husband used (not so jammed and only one wall was an outside wall) and never had to use one in there. Someone said one took care of an entire garage. I find they last about 4-5 weeks average in a closet. In the unfinished part of the basement, I have to use a dehumidifier - no way a little bag will help that. I am allergic to mold, so it is essential that I use whatever is necessary to eliminate it. But if you try it, I highly recommended Fragrance Free or you might just hate it. Read Less

How do you remove the liquid stains? The bottom bag ruptured and spilled its contents on the floor.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Product I have been using this product for years in my closets. In our first house, we had plaster walls with no insulation, so we used these to keep our clothes from getting moldy. (You also have to keep the clothes from touching the outside walls. We did this by purchasing wire shelving and laying them vertically against the wall). We use them now in the basement utility closet and another closet in the basement and they do the job of keeping out mold. Not a replacement for a dehumidifier, but very good for closed spaces without much air circulation. I would recommend only using fragrance free. The fragranced ones I've tried are overpowering. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best price online I looked everywhere for fragrance free Damp Rid hangers but HD had the best online price for bulk buys. With a bulk purchase, shipping was free so I will not overlook HD in the future as the prices are competitive. Product arrived with in a few days with no problems. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product Unscented can be hard to find. I'm glad Home Depot carries it. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent moisture remover I love this product, as long as it is the fragrance free. I no longer have any mildew smells in my closets. It is just amazing to me how much moisture was in my closets and how well this product works. I can't stand any of the fragrances, so I highly recommend the fragrance free product. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great moisture absorber I bought this product once and then came back to order more. We have a house that gets damp in corners. Last year I had to replace a bedroom rug. This year, I've hung three moisture absorbers in that corner so far and there is no moisture on the wall or in the rug. I like the fragrance free ones best, because the floral scented one kept me from sleeping. A great product!! The other products we bought didn't work or were too bulky to use. July 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for Closests I have been using these for years. In our old home, the closets on the outside walls got terribly moldy over time. I would put one of these per month in each closet and also had a length of 12" wire shelving vertical against the wall to keep the clothing from touching the plaster walls. Together, this took care of the problem. Now I have 2 basement closets I use them in. One is a utility closet with concrete walls on 2 sides, the other is totally finished, but they both fill up in about 5-6 weeks. I can only find the Fragrance Free online. I hate the overpowering smell of the fragranced. I shop around for best prices and order enough to get free shipping. November 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saves Your Clothes and Shoes My clothes and shoes were getting musty and mildewy in my travel trailer closets. These hanging moisture absorbers went right to work absorbing all the moisture that was accumulating, so now the closets remain dry. These are very inexpensive and will save me more than they cost. March 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Keeps moisture out of your textiles! Surprises me to see how much humidity is in our closets. Highly recommend. Fragrance free is the only viable option. I can't monitor fragrance. One con: Becomes expensive, but not as much as dry cleaning lots of musty clothing. Need dehumidifier too! Important part of climate control in our home. October 13, 2015
