Can this product be installed for a marble (imitation) walk-in shower?
Asked by: NeeterWoman
Thank you for your question. Yes, provided the dimensions of your shower opening are between 50-1/8 in. – 59-3/8 in. in width and 70 in. in height (measured from the sill to the top of your side wall) this product should work for your installation. However - the screws and anchors that are provided in the packaging are specific to acrylic shower surrounds so they will need to be replaced with an appropriate anchors for your specific enclosure walls. We hope this helps – if you have further questions we invite you to call 1-800-964-4850. The Shower Door Team

Is there a rubber seal at the bottom of the sliding doors?

I just had my bathroom remodeled and purchased this shower door. I liked it because there isn't a bottom track with multiple grooves where the bottom of the doors slide. I recall seeing it in the store with a clear flexible rubber piece that ran at the bottom of the doors, but I don't see this rubber piece. Am I remembering this correctly?
Asked by: Oh
Mine doesn't have a rubber seal on the bottom of the door in the sliding track. The way to seal the doors from the outside is to caulk the bottom aluminum support piece to your shower curb.

The top rail "sags" under the weight of the doors; so the rail slopes downward from the walls. Thus, as installed, the doors would not stay closed. Called Liberty Hardware. They sent me some "captive bumpers" that grip the door and hold it closed. Also, the doors do not roll smoothly. I believe the wheels on the hanger bracket are not truly circular.

One of the doors hangs a little crooked and he was not able to completely solve the problem though he was able to improve it a little by adjusting the rollers on the brackets. Wasn''t sure what Neibla Glass was. It is frosted. It is not as clear as picture. Does look very nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Home Project Renovating shower and shower with bath. Assembled product looks nice. Only two problems: There were small black spots on white rails, that looked like corrosion. Easly covered with white touch-up. Secondly, the heads of the anchoring screws are soft and easily stripped

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall decent product, not recommended for 59-inch openings Decent product overall. Couple of points to consider. First of all, the doors are separated by more than an inch. Which means that if your shower opening is more than about 58 inches, the gap between the two doors (when the doors are closed) will allow water to spray out of your shower between the gap. My shower opening is 59 inches. To solve this, I found some clear silicone weather stripping and installed two strips (one on each door) to fill the gap somewhat. It's not perfect, but it did reduce the amount of water splashing through the gap in the doors. Home depot does not sell this clear silicone weather stripping. I had to find it at amazon. I'll try to post some pictures of this later. Second, the installation was a little tricky because despite having the vertical support bars installed PERFECTLY level, the doors still didn't close properly. I had to adjust one of the vertical supports to slightly off-level to get the doors to close correctly. If you have two helpers, i suggest that you consider having your helpers hold the supports before drilling holes in your tile, then hang the doors from the cross bar to see if they close properly. Or at least drill the bottom hole and screw it in so that you can change the support bars' vertical levels. This WILL be tricky since the glass doors are rather heavy, but could save you from having to drill multiple holes in your shower tile. I warn you to be very careful if you decide to try this. And if you have porcelain tile, expect it to take a while to drill the holes, even with a brand new masonry drill bit (also highly recommended). Make sure you have access to an oscillating saw or something that can mechanically cut the aluminum. You'll most likely need to make at least 2 cuts of 2 different pieces. I tried it with a hack saw and nearly made a mess of it since the top beam especially is a rather complex piece of metal. A hack saw will work, but be patient. The Nielba glass is nice, but it is more opaque than i was expecting. If i had to choose again, i would choose the clear glass. i was originally concerned about water stains on clear glass (scaling) which is why i chose the frosted glass, but the interior glass is coated so a quick squeegee clean after each shower and the glass stays perfectly clean. And incidentally, the interior glass coating keeps the scale in a powdery form that can easily be wiped off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW What a Great Shower Door I was dreading replacing my old shower curtain with a glass sliding door. I didn't want to spend a fortune for installation so I decided to do it myself. The Cresfield Semi Frameless shower door looked good at the store and the instructions seemed pretty easy, so I went for it. I was very surprised at how well the shower door is constructed, no cheap or thin parts that you have to worry about. And the glass doors are very heavy which means they are solid and will take a lot of abuse. I will say this for the instructions, they are the best I have seen. They anticipate what you may do wrong and warn you ahead of time what to watch out for. I had the door installed in no time. The only thing I have left is trimming out where I removed trim to make room for the door. I will add one more thing that will keep you from panicking, don't throw anything away until you are completely through with the job. I almost lost the rollers for the doors because I didn't read all of the instructions. Fortunately, I had kept the foam packing and found them with the doors. The doors looks great and glide smoothly when you open and close them. I have to admit, I chose a shower door to put on my tub for one big reason. I have a tub/shower door in my other bathroom and I have to duck under the bar each time I get in or out. With the Cresfield shower door (not a tub/shower door) it it taller and is no problem getting in or out. So if you have a tub you may want to think about using a shower door instead of the usual tub/shower door.
