Unfortunately this tool cannot be used on Hardwood, but they have a new tool that can be. It is the 4.5" tool for decks. That one can be used on hardwood as well.

The sticky chunks of glue that are removed are covered with concrete dust which makes them much easier to clean up. Even if it was able to effectively remove the adhesive I would be very concerned about tearing into the wood floor if you are planning on refinishing it. I think your best option would be a chemical stripper and scraping. consider using saw dust or flour to help clean up the scraped up glue.
good luck!

Hi Frank, sorry, this product is too abrasive for hardwood flooring.
Depending on how big an area you are working on you can rent a floor sander. The are several types of floor sanders to fit the needs of the project.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Shockingly the best I am a professional decorative concrete artisan, I polish, stain, resurface and install various coatings to existing concrete floors. We recently polished a 3000 SF area at a local church. We used the fallowing aquipment- large concrete floor grinder, a edco concrete floor grinder with a scrape away blade, and a 7 inch diamabrush on an angle grinder with dust shroud & hepa vac. Hands down the 7" diamabrush did a better job and did it faster then all of the big equipment. The price seems high but when you consider the cost of that other equipment and all the time saved its well worth the price. My only regret was not having more of them as the blade wore out before we could do the whole floor. September 5, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stripping paint or wax or both off concrete? This product gets the job done quick and right. I would advise anyone about to put down a new tile floor to use this on the concrete. It knocks down bumps and smooths out grooves. Great product that turned a 5 hour job into a 30 minute job. Can't say enough good things about it. November 19, 2013
