Can the shower door opening be in the opposite side of the shower head?

Asked by: Cm
The Allure is fully reversible for installation on either the right or left side. You will have to choose what works best for your situation, taking into consideration vanity placement, etc. If your only installation option is to have the shower head on the opposite side of the shower door opening. you may find that tilting the shower head towards your wall will go a long way in preventing leaking. Hope this helps. Any other questions? Please call the DreamLine Customer Support Line at 866-731-2244. Prefer email? Send an email to support@dreamline.com. We are available from 8am-7pm EST, M-F and Saturday from 9am-5pm EST to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for considering DreamLine!

Is there a way to install the door without the small pane of glass?

Asked by: Jennifer
Unfortunately, the small stationary panel that the pivots attach to is a necessary component to the Allure Shower Door. The Elegance Shower Door is a pivot shower door, also, but does not have that third panel of glass. The Elegance Shower Door also is only able to be adjusted for out of plumb and out of width by 1" on each side. If you have any other questions, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.2244. We are available 8am-7pm EST, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm EST and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also send an email to support@dreamline.com. my fiberglass shower opening is 39 " is fiberglass sufficiently strong to hold the supporting brackets

Asked by: joseph
Great question, Joesph! We can provide you with the requirements for installing the Allure, and you will need to evaluate you fiberglass enclosure to determine if it meets all of the requirements for installation. The Allure Shower Door requires solid finished walls for installation. If you press on your shower walls and there is any give or flex to them, then they are not solid. There must also be a 90 degree angle at the join where the fiberglass wall meets your threshold. If there is a curve or radius at this join, the Allure will not be able to be installed. Next, you must have smooth, finished walls from the threshold up to the 73" point on your wall. If your walls measure less than 73" or there is any dimension to the wall, such as a curb, then your enclosure will not be able to accept the Allure Shower door. In short, if your fiberglass enclosure has any of these conditions, we would not recommend that you choose a DreamLine product. As much as we would love for you to choose DreamLine, it is more important that you choose the correct shower door for your situation. Thank you so much for reaching out to DreamLine regarding this. If you have any other questions or would like to discuss this further, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.2244. We are available 8am-7pm EST, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm EST and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also send an email to support@dreamline.com. Allure 36 in. to 43 in. x 73 in. Semi-Framed Pivot Shower Door in Chrome is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 11.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice modern look It is very well built but my general contractor wasn't familiar and was afraid if he installed incorrectly it would have to replace on his dime. I called the office and got several names of instants who were trained on the installation. Fortunately my contractor deducted the cost from his additional quote. If I had do over I wouldn't get such a thick glass. The only issue is the clear plastic on the bottom of the door is difficult to keep clean as well as the bottom hinge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking door This door was worth the price and effort to improve access to our shower. We replaced sliding doors that only gave about an 18" opening. This one gives about 31" - when mounted in our 43" opening (a narrower opening would give less because the door overlaps the fixed glass panel). Three issues: 1) the manual could be improved with more pictures and less text (like IKEA). While the door is reversible, only one mounting is shown in the top view. I had to reverse the image to represent my door's direction. 2) This door is HEAVY - probably 100#. Get plenty of help when you are ready to mount it. 3) There is some adjustment for out-of-level walls on both sides, but it is minimal when your opening is 43". You can get a model with a 12" fixed glass if you need to level more and have a 43" opening. The door looks great in our bathroom and really helps our access.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shower door I was a little worried about buying a $700 shower door without looking at it first, but I was pleasantly pleased with the quality of the door and the hardware, as well as the extra features that I didn't notice until I unpacked it, like the magnetic closure. The installation instructions were very good, and walked you through the whole process. Overall I am very pleased with this door. The glass door does take two people to install, as it's heavy and impossible to install with just one person and get level and plumb.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Product I had the product shipped to my local Home Depot. The door glass, stationary glass and mounting hardware is shipped in three separate boxes within a palleted wood crate and is moved using a fork lift. The pallet fit nicely into a Suburban. To unload, we simply uncrated the product on the vehicle and removed the boxes individually. The large box containing the shower door glass was heavy and required two people to handle properly. The glass and hardware were very well packaged for shipping. Installation of the stationary single glass panel and hinge support was not very difficult. Installing the glass door on the pivots and securing the door can be challenging due to the weight of the door. The product has a very professional feel. Each part was individually numbered which was helpful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Classy Product is wonderful very classy looking. Instructions could be clearer as I did have ti reinstall one latch because I did not notice the correct direction of a screw. It did take most of the day to install. I would also recommend getting better and bigger wall anchors as the one included are a little small and the door is very heavy.
