The MS 402 box states this unit is equipped with an agitator , how does this work?

Asked by: bossman
it does have a "agitator", when you pump a cheap piece of plastic goes up and down. Now this is how I do it since there system is a joke. 1st I shake it b4 putting on then while spraying I basically use my body to shake it while I am wearing it. just whatever you do don't rely on the sprayer mixing it for you it will not do anything that is worth noting.

How do I relieve the pressure in the tank?

hold down sprayer trigger point inside tank as to not lose your chemicals.

What PSI pressure can it maintain? How far can it reach out in a single stream?

Asked by: distancesprayer
I can't comment on PSI, however I am able to reach approximately 15 feet up the side of the house from about 8 feet away from the house with the adjustable nozzle.

Have used this pump for MOSTLY PEST CONTROL CHEMICALS OCCASIONALLY for several months and now it will not pump and build enough pressure to spray. I have searched high and low to find replacement seals, gaskets for the pump. The ECHO web site, absurdly, does not have any reference to the MS402 sprayer, still currently sold by none other than the world famous Home Depot. , which ALSO does not carry replacement parts either or provide any reference to find such parts. I find this really ridiculous, frustrating and now have a worthless sprayer!! So do I need to budget $150 a year now for a sprayer that should last much longer than a few months?

The hard plastic base, on my - 5'11" 200+ lbs., body kills my lower back/butt. The rim cuts into my back right around my butt where is rests/rides on. The lip cuts into my back and it pushs down my pants no matter how tight my pant belt is. I've tried adjusting the straps, but it continued to cut into my back. The negative is the pump handle is too close to my/your body. The unit appears to be designed for skinny people who don't fill the sprayer up to the top with water/chemicals. With the pump systemm, you do have to constantly pump. The pump holds a small amount in the chamber and once you start spraying, you have to keep on pumping to refill the chamber. I've found I much prefer the pressurized tank style sprayer. For the same amount of money, I've found the Field King Max sprayer does a much better job, has a SS metal wand and much more comfortable strap and back brace and hip wrap padding. If you're going to be spraying anything larger than a track home yard, it is a better option. I've got 2.5 acres to maintain and comfort is of prime importance. This Echo is a killer for me. It got returned and a Field King Max has replaced it. If you're skinny, you might be able to fit this sprayer. I don't. Your mileage may vary.

My sprayer was the same way (hard to spray, low discharge). In the wand, at the handle is a filter. After cleaning it out, it works like new. Hope this helps. After having mine for one year & 9 days, the shoulder strap buckle broke. Other than that it is just as good as my last/still use some Solo.

Sprayer pump was fairly easy to spray when first purchased but after 6 months it is pretty hard to pump. You need to constantly pump the handle which rocks the unit on your back. It does spray good for products like week killers and bug spray.

Pump arm is tight against your side and doesn't stick out far enough to reach comfortably. Otherwise , a nice machine.
