Rated 5 out of 5Â by FixerDad A great-looking LED upgrade for "bulb-in-can" down lights!
Not only will LEDs last long and save tons of money, these down lights have a true soft white glow, install easily, and have a classy enclosed bezel look.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by LouinTX Have about 60 of these
I have about 40 of these in my office and 20 in my home. They produce great quality light, dim very nicely, and so far haven't failed me after about 4 years maybe on the oldest ones. The trim kit looks good and they are easy to install. The user who panned them has some crazy ideas about how to install them. He is missing the obvious or he has some alternate form of can in his house. They take about 1 minute each to install (or less when you get the hang of it). I have a bunch of the A19 Cree bulbs as well and couldn't be happier with them.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by streaklite Better than in-store "mid range" 12.5 watts and 625 Lumens
About a year ago, we had purchased numerous of the model "575-L" that used 9.5 watts and produced 575 lumens, both from in the store and online (at around low $30-something each). This version had the clear plastic ring you see in the stock photos. Looking to replace some more recently, in the store there was a slightly cheaper ($27) version "625-L" that consumed 12.5 watts, produced 625 lumens, and did not have the clear plastic ring, and also had a lower 80 color rendering index (compared to the 90+ on the old version). Disappointed in the look of the in-store "mid range" LED, we were hoping to find some of the more efficient older and slightly more expensive LEDs that would match our existing ones with the clear ring. We tried this hoping these were the old ones but to our surprise these were the best of both worlds:
1. 9.5 WATTS
2. 625 LUMENS
3. CLEAR PLASTIC RING INCLUDED
4. 90+ COLOR RATING
I am very happy we found lights that will match our existing lights, and as an added bonus, these are rated slightly higher in lumens than the old version

Rated 3 out of 5Â by bubba HD is shipping the previous version
As of June 2012, HD is still shipping the previous 10.5 watt version. Same light output, but less efficient. That costs you in two ways: more electricity and shorter lifetime. The LED heats up a bit more, and every degree F shortens life by about 4%
