Hello and thank you for your interest in our product. The panels do have a raised finish, they will not be smooth when you run your hand across them, they do have texture. This specific design does have grooves and crevices as it appears in the pictures. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact our customer service team at 800.434.3750. Thank you.

Acceptable substrates are drywall, plaster or clean, smooth tile (glazed, porcelain type tile; not porous or textured). Any damaged, loose or uneven areas must be repaired, patched, leveled and primed. Fill cracks and irregularities with wallboard compound or spackling, then sand smooth with fine-grade sandpaper. Any porous material like highly textured drywall, plywood (or any raw wood without primer), and wallpaper unless removed, sanded and primed, will result in adhesive failure. Customer Reviews

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice, different look I used this as a backsplash in the kitchen. People who've seen it are impressed with the look and everyone thinks it's metal. Almost all of them have to touch it to believe it's not. A very distinctive look. I was going to use the individual panels sold in the store, but those were going to result in too many seams. These panels are easy to cut with heavy duty scissors. I also used the edge strips sold separately to finish off the look. It's delivered rolled up into a tube about 12" in diameter and 8' in length in a box. Let it lay flat before working to take out some of the curl and make it easier to work with. This material is covered with a protect film of clear plastic to protect it. Remove it before installing if you're using the edge strips. June 24, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not Recommended for 'Wave Wall Look' These panels are very confusing. We looked at a lot of these as we were trying to achieve a waved wall look. The price was good compared to MDF or hardboard, however the panels were bad. There are no flanged edges which means you will not be able to cut the edges and join them together for a unified look. The only way to join them are by using trim pieces, which are also very cheap. Another thing we found confusing about these was the direction of the wave. It reads horizontal on the website, but that can mean anything. The waves run horizontally from 8ft, so longer waves. If you are looking to achieve the wave wall look I suggest MDF, hardboard or even waved tile. August 29, 2014
