CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 86 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Impeller WILL Fail - Not Available at Home Depot Pump impeller lasted two summers pumping off pool cover and water from behind liner. Did a great job until impeller disintegrated. Home Depot does not carry a spare. Called Flotec and told to order through Home Depot. Have tried three times to place a special order at Home Depot and my order has been misplaced every time at two different stores. Good simple little pump, but impeller will fail and Home Depot has not supported product. Impeller would be simple and cheap to change if you could get one. Would give a recommendation and 4 stars if I could simply buy spare impellers. January 28, 2008
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Impeller Failure I have set up a small irrigation system using captured rain water in 10 barrels hooked in series to provide me over 500 gallons of water to irrigate my lawn and garden. I find the pump is very senstive to heat and will fail if it looses prime within 5 min. I used this pump for a summer before it packed it in for me. I really liked the small compact design and ease of mounting and taking it down for the summer time. However, I would recommend buying a pump that is better built to withstand the test of time. The impellers are made of plastic and break very easily. September 4, 2008
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Flotec 1/12 Horsepower Liquid Transfer Utility Pum pump impeller failed after approx. 10 hours of use; very sensitive to heat/friction operating environment; constantly had to cycle pump for one hour operation only and constantly add mineral oil to lubricate rubber impeller; poor performance for the dollar value!; now I'm looking for repair parts on the Internet. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by SERIOUSLY DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP. SERIOUSLY DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP. I read the reviews and the instruction manual, thinking I can out-smart this pump and make it last…Returned it the next morning. We had a slow leak in our basement; I needed this pump to run between 6-8 MINUTES every 2-3 hours. I primed and meticulously checked the run time (like the reviews) and it began to fail during the 4th time used. Based on my math, average 7 minutes x 4 times = 28 minutes. Two words JUNK & JUNK. Also is started to leak internally. If you decide to buy it, plan on a return trip to HD. PS it bothers me to give it a "1"...I would prefer a "0" March 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great pump to keep you out of trouble! My sewer line failed and water was starting to back up in the floor drains in my basement. I bought this to allow me to pump water out of my basement until the sewer line was dug up and repaired. This pump was easy to prime, ran well, had enough power to pump the water up and out to the back yard. It performed much better than the first pump (not sold at Home Depot) which I had to return and had lower pumping specs. Over all I highly recommend this product if you need one! April 21, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice little pump, but why no parts??? This was (note the past tense) a nice little pump for me, and very handy to have around the house. Versatile and lightweight. Then it failed without warning. No problem, it's a simple little pump, and I can just pick up some new parts at Home Depot, right? Nope. If the sensitive parts (impeller and gasket) fail regularly, WHY WOULD YOU NOT STOCK REPLACEMENT PARTS??? I had to mail order them from a 3rd party because although Home Depot sells the pump, they do not sell replacement parts. Really frustrating when the pump fails without warning (as mine did). Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good for my purposes I have used this pump for 10 years, 3 times a year for 2 1/2 hours each time (75 hours total), to drain my 400 gallon hot tub. It did not fail until today, so a pretty good showing. I just purchased a refurbish kit on eBay for $12, so we'll see how long it lasts this time. April 12, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor pump Impeller failed on first use. Replacement parts hard to find. April 3, 2015
