Answer:
Yes, it basically acts as a remote like the one you would keep in your car. It doesn't impact the single press which are wired in.

Answer:
No. This is an additional way of opening and closing. You put it on the wall outside so that people who don't have the car button can get in. I've been using this for well over a year and I love it.

Answer:
Not if you replace them within a reasonable amount of time. A charge is held inside by capacitors to be used if there is an interruption of power (dead batteries, or replacing batteries). If replaced within 10-14 days, nothing will be lost.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 105 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Opens and Closes Easy to program. Works fine, I would like it to be easier to attach with Velcro because I didn't want to drill into concrete. I was able to affix it with Velcro but there isn't enough space on the back to do it right. June 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works great and easy to program Setup was so simple. I only had to press two buttons. It is super simple to program for the code you choose. It is also easy to change the code for those times you want to give someone a temporary code to use while you are gone. May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great replacement!! Needed to replace older, broken opener. This was easy to install and once programmed, works great. I think I like the flip up top cover better then the slide up cover, which the older one had. May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by As advertised I have genie garage door opener, but my old keypad was a lift master. When I reprogram my code withe lift master it just would not work. I mean I tried to Google on how to do it I spent probably about two hours of Google search time and reprogramming time and it just would not work. I research this is Jeanie keypad and it literally took me no more than three minutes to program my new code and to install it. I would recommend this product to anyone. April 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works on new frequencies Unit works with newer unit's frequency only. Does not work with older unit. May 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install, easier to use, very durable construction, effective design The opener was very easy to install and even easier to use, looks good on the door trim. Buttons have a good strong feel and the cover clicks shut, giving the sense of quality. Better than the Liftmaster version for their doors. One small downside is that the code has to be entered to close the door in addition to opening it, seems unnecessary. April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by can't go wrong with this purchase..... easy setup and just what we needed around the house, money well spent.... April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product I am a 64 year old female who has tackled some fairly easy projects and this was a breeze. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a garage door opener. So often, when outside working in the yard, it comes in handy to be able to close and open the door rather than leaving the door open and your home exposed. It installs easily and syncs with the garage door opener just like the remote does. No more worrying about forgetting your keys or having to leave a key hidden outside. February 16, 2016
