Customer Reviews

Hampton 48 in. W x 21 in. D x 33.5 in. H Vanity Cabinet Only in White is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money Quality - Horrible. The vast majority of the vanity is made out of low grade chip wood with a thin white lamina. The back of the cabinet is a cardboard like material with a faux wood print, there are a couple of vertical 2" wide chip wood strips on the back to aid in structural support. The base is also chip wood with the wood print lamina. As soon as any water hits these surfaces at an edge, cut, or scrape where the lamina isn't there to protect them, it will swell and crumble. We discovered that the toe board was damaged when we unboxed the vanity. Likely when hoisted off the overhead shelves at the store, but given the incredibly low quality of the materials, it could have been at any time. While installing, the toe board ripped out of the staples in the middle. Turns out that the toe board doesn't actually touch the bottom of the cabinet, it's just stapled in on either side and 1 point in the middle. It provides no structural support. After discovering the poor quality and engineering of the toe board, I was too concerned about it's structural soundness to cut out the hole for the toe kick vent. So the ductwork is just venting under the cabinet until I replace the junk material of the existing toe board. The cabinet does have 2 plywood vertical posts on either side of the front. But the manufacturer was too cheap to paint the bottom of these boards. So if you look at it from the right angle, you can see where the lamina ends and the wood begins. Looks like a great place for water damage to start. Value - For $340 dollars? I feel ripped off. I should have paid $100 full retail for this piece of garbage at Ikea, not $340 at the Home Depot. Honestly, even if I could get it on sale for $75 I'd still feel better off going to a home recycling store and getting something build out of wood. Ease of installation - On the bright side, it's rather light. So I got it into position on my own. On the down side, the material is so weak that even just taking it off the dolly caused a crack to form in one of the sides. Over all - don't waste your money on this piece of junk.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from you get what you pay for I bought this cabinet at my local Home Depot for $344. It was the cheapest one they had. I wasn't expecting a great cabinet but perhaps it could have been a little better. The drawer glides were all messed up and the back of the vanity was coming undone. Husband put more brads in it and fixed the glides. Two drawers had brads sticking out through the front. We called the company and got them replaced. They showed up the following day. Unfortunately, they were the wrong drawers as the insert that says the model number was the wrong one as well. I called them and ordered the correct drawers. I'm waiting for them as we speak....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good cabinet for the price! This Hampton Bay vanity cabinet is definitely a lower end piece of cabinetry but DO NOT let this sway you... If you are looking for an AFFORDABLE and easy replacement for a bathroom vanity then this may be a great choice for you! YES, it is partially made of particle board and the it is assembled with staples and plastic corner joints so do be cautious when unpacking and moving the cabinet into place. The drawer and cabinet front faces, however, are made of a fairly decent quality wood like material. The metal drawer pulls are a nice touch and, once installed, this will make for a fairly decent looking update to a bathroom. Simply keep in mind what you are buying here as it's unfair to compare this to solid wood vanities at 4 or more times the price... Choose accordingly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fairly good, average quality, vanity The vanity is supplied fully assembled (a vanity top is not included). The craftsmanship is fairly rudimentary. One of the support frames was attached by staples, and the staples only protruded 1/8 of an inch in to the cabinet. The frame is fully enclosed, ,meaning you'll cut out the holes for plumbing before installing it. This provides a finished touch when looking inside the cabinet. Simple silver hardware is provided. The quality is akin to the other modern vanities we have, and the simple plain white design will fit in most bathrooms just fine. Like all cabinets in this price range, it is made from particle board.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap Make no mistake, this is the cheapest vanity cabinet at Home Depot – which is why I bought it. You get what you pay for. I had a professional install it so I didn't have to deal with all the issues of a poorly made product. After reading all the reviews, I knew it was getting into. It was exactly as expected.
