Customer Questions & Answers

What is the difference between the SG2 and the SG3? I see the SG3 is rated for 3600p max, maybe they both are. That and about 11 bucks. Anything else?

Asked by: DarrellM
The SG3 has a swivel fitting on the gun. It does make it easier to clean the gun too.

What else do I need to spray and stain my fence besides airless spray gun and stain paint?

I don't have the sprayer, I only have an air compressor and pressure washer. Thanks
Asked by: Renee
A roller. I sprayed my fence and the absorption rate left line where I did not overlay uniformly. Now if you are a seasoned painter you might do better than I did. I used ceder planks.

My sprayer does not shut off,is there a part I can clean, polish or replace?

This prayer was clogged to begin with and was not stored properly. Might have had water in it when it froze last winter, maybe corrosion between the front plunger and where the tip connects.
Asked by: Kevin
If it will not shut off either the pump is leaking by of the spray gun is leaking. If the gun is leaking paint will be coming out of the end. First I would disassemble the area where the paint enters the the machine and clean the spring and ball. Make sure you remember how it goes back together. It is simple.

Asked by: theo
This sprayer is electric. It cannot not be hooked up to air.

SG3 Airless Spray Gun is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from i DO RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT NORMALLY, but this particular spray gun had a manufacturer defect. I ... i DO RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT NORMALLY, but this particular spray gun had a manufacturer defect. I would spray and when I let off the trigger it would continued to spray for about a second. I think it had a week spring. But I have bought a few of these guns and have had good luck with. One thing for sure you need to keep them clean and use an air compressor to blow the water out when not using or disassemble it if you want it to last a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good feel and works well, but alittle pricey The gun has a good balance to it and does not vibrate or shake in your hand while spraying. Coverage is great with a quality paint such as Behr and the swivel joint is a God Send. MY only disappointment with this purchase is that the Home Depot clerk (whom had just started there a week or two before) highly recommended I buy this sprayer to replace my old one instead of informing me that I could have gone to the local Sherwin Williams store and purchased a new neoprene gasket to stop my 3 year old gun from leaking all over my hand as soon as I turned on my sprayers' pump. Cost of new gun @ $118.00 New gasket $1.49 I used to be in sales/service myself, and know that had the shoes been on the other feet, I would have recommended bringing in the old gun first, to see if there was a logical reason why the old one leaked. It turns out that the gasket had fallen out (unnoticed) while cleaning it after I had used it a few months before and I had put it back together still not knowing that the gasket was missing. For over 30 years I have shopped at Home Depot because I have access to people with more knowledge than I when I need help in making an informed product / cost selection. I will continue shopping there for that reason, but when talking with someone I've never seen there before, rest assured I will question their expertise first from here on.
