This HDX filter fit my Maytag refrigerator just fine. It's made in the USA and has NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 certification. It weighs 30% less than the OEM filter (7.3 oz vs 10.3 oz) and is slightly smaller in diameter. They come with stick-on date tags and a six-month change recommendation.
The flow rate is as good as the OEM filter. The initial flush produced lots of carbon fines, but after the first gallon it ran clear.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dave Good product, better price
Used this replacement filter in my Maytag. It fit perfectly. The filter medium performed as advertised. The price point is what I liked best about this item. You can purchase 2 of these for just slightly more than what one of the "name brand" filters costs. If there is one thing that I would ding this product for, the amount of water pressure coming out of this unit is slightly less than the other filters. I would suppose this is due to the thicker filter medium. You also have to run several glasses of water through your dispenser before the unit settles down and no longer appears cloudy. Over all I am well pleased with this purchase.

I won't rate this any lower, because it does actually fit my fridge (Maytag French door, filter in top right corner) and it does filter the water. But the flow rate is so abysmally slow that my family griped every time they had to fill a glass or the coffee pot! It's rated at 0.5 gpm, and I would say it probably does that, but compared to the Whirlpool official replacement (now made by Everydrop) which is rated at 0.8 gpm, it's half as fast. I timed it. It took 56 seconds to fill a 1.4qt. jug. Doesn't seem that long, but feels like forever, especially since we were used to the fast flow of the original filter. The Everydrop filter that replaced it took 32 seconds. You can see in the attached picture the difference between this filter on the left, and the Everydrop on the right. The HDX filter is smaller, and has fewer openings for the water to flow through.
Then again, this filter is half the cost of the Everydrop, so if you need to same some money and don't mind what feels like a trickle of water from your dispenser, it's still acceptable.

In the title it has it listed as filter 4 (value pack). When you order this product you will only receive two. I could have gotten the name brand on Amazon for $34 for 2 filters. I was under the impression I would be receiving four filters. This is not not a good deal and certainly not a value pack. It might be value for Home Depot, but not for the consumer.

The filter works great and super easy to install. Like the idea of having a 2 package option. Cheaper than purchasing online:)

The disappointing aspect of this product is that the water comes out of the dispenser slower than with OEM water filter. I recommend this product, sort of. It is less expensive, and the flow rate is not dramatically worse. But it is noticeable.
