this set of china protectors are perfect for storing my holiday china. i have two sets of spode china; one to use for thanksgiving and one to use for christmas.
i have used these storage protectors in my buffet to store this holiday china. i feel much better about the china being safe from chips and cracks when these plate protectors are being used. they are sturdy enough for this type of use, but would not be for actually moving the china from home to home. i was able to fit more than 12 plates in each protector. my bread and butter plates, salad plates and dinner plates fit perfectly. since i used more than the 12 plate protector inserts, i added some of my own and they worked out just fine. the blue fabric is attractive and has a quilted pattern. the brand is well known and that also attracted me to purchase this product.

Upon receiving this set to review I immediately loaded my stored china plates into the 4 padded containers. The zippers worked well and I was able to fit all of the plates easily. The padding seems sufficient to protect the plate edges from chips and damage that might result when storing china without covers. The containers are a bit larger than the plates so no part of the plate will press up against the edge of the container. They should be handy to lift the whole set out of the cabinet at once rather than have individual plates slip out of my grasp if taken out as a stack. I have purchased box-style china/glassware containers and they are more expensive than these and very sturdy. However, they do not fit as easily into breakfront cabinets as these do. I like this product and I think they are worth buying.

This product is a well made and roomy holder. I can get the amount of china in it, as promised, and then some. I am very happy with this and will most likely acquire some more for the rest of my dinnerware.

I was very excited to try this product. I have a full set of Noritake China that has sentimental value. We are in the process of replacing the floor and I needed to pack my china cabinet. Hagerty plate saver set is easy to use and fits the dishes perfectly. The top loading design is easy to use, I had all 48 dinner, saucer, dessert and salad plates packed in 30 minutes. Each set seals shut with a nylon zipper keeping out dust and moisture. The foam dividers are very thin and I might look for a replacement. You will still have to handle the dishes with extreme care. The sides are soft cotton quilting and are very thin. It is still a great way to keep delicate china safe, protect against scratches, chips, dust and moisture. When not in use, it fits back into the zipper packaging and could be stored in a large drawer. In all this product is still a great value and I plan on buying the rest of the Hagerty line for cups and larger dishes.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0Â by Move14 Serves its purpose but not overly impressed
The Hagerty plate saver set is made of a somewhat thin blue quilted fabric. The material seems durable enough to withstand repeated handling and the stitching seems secure. Zippers work well and the size is adequate for my Lenox china.
However, while I've seen ads on other websites indicating this product is made from cotton, the Home Depot description doesn't indicate it's cotton and in fact, the fabric feels more like olefin or a synthetic blend; it definitely does not feel like cotton. The packaging for the product does not indicate fabric content nor does it give any washing or cleaning instructions. The only thing the packaging indicates is the size and that the product is made in China.
The cushion dividers included, which are meant for placing between plates, are extremely thin and relatively small squares. As a result, they don't provide cushion from the bottom ridge of one plate to another except on the very smallest plate size. Maybe using something that thin is the only way you can fit 12 plates in each saver? Since I only have 8 place settings, I don't know for sure, but personally I will use the thicker plate-saver foam sleeves I currently own to ensure my plates don't rub against each other.
I will use this product for storing my china in a buffet when it's not in use, but I will not rely on it if I move or am packing the china for long-term storage, because I feel the plates would shift too much and the padding is too thin.
