Answer:
Thank you for your question. We typically do not recommend any ceiling fan to be used as a sole source of light. It is a bright light but should be supplemented with another light source in the room. The fan size is ok for the room size.

Yes, the white fan does come with a 3-speed remote. Our new bedroom fan is this very same model and the remote works fine.
Good luck,

Answer:
Great. So I again have to hire handyman to change codes as the one in the fan is NOT accessible to me-woman in mid-60's. Maybe instructions should tell purchaser/installer the code should be changed to avoid these problems?

Answer:
Sorry for the issue you're having. It sounds like you're having an interfere issue. By resetting the dipswitches on the remote/receiver that should stop the lights from coming on by itself.

No, the light fixture bowl is not covered. We have not had any problems with bugs on our ceiling fan/light fixture. It is very quiet and works really well for us.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The bowl is open as are most indoor ceiling fan light kits. Typically, the enclosed light kits are designed for use outdoors, but the Southwind is an indoor fan, so bugs and dirt shouldn't be an issue.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great fan for the price. Fan is quiet and remote works great. There is a lot of assembly, however, instructions are easy to follow. I installed as a ceiling hugger and it moves plenty of air. October 11, 2016
