Does this plug into an outdoor 3 prong fixture/socket for power?

Looking to buy this as I need a new outdoor motion sensor flood light since the solar ones HD sells die after it rains once (ugh). Does this model plug into an outdoor 3 prong fixture/socket for power?
Asked by: InNeedOfLight
No. Must be hardwired to an outdoor electrical junction box.

do i need a electrician to install?

Asked by: Anonymous
I would recommend you should, if you not comfortable working around electricity. It is a self wiring set up.

How do I get the light to turn off automatically?

I accidentally shut off the inside light switch that controls the electricity for the outdoor sensor light. When I turned the light switch back on, it automatically turned the light on. I thought it would have just stayed off until the sensor detected motion. The light will now not shut off on it's own either. It will only shut off by turning off the light switch. How do I reset/fix this problem so the light will work the way it's supposed to?
Asked by: Anonymous
Turn switch off for about 30 seconds and then turn back on. This should reset the light.

Is this fixture suitable for wet, windy, coastal locations?

We have a beach house on the Oregon Coast. I propose to mount it above a deck adjacent to a door on the SW (full weather) side of the house. Is this fixture suitable for that purpose?
Asked by: ArtB
My understanding is that it is NEMA 4 rated which includes outdoor, wet and windy locations. Follow the directions which call for use of the included gasket and some silicone caulk.
