Answer:
I just used two different ones in my bathroom. Basically, the oil based version dries a little faster and is more tolerant of latex based paints. Latex has a tendency to smooth out the water based texture. however, if you use a roller to prime it after, then you wont have a problem anyway. Water based is easier to deal with any overspray that might happen.

How do I repair texture on outdoor stucco

This question is from Pro Grade 25 oz. Dual Control Orange Peel Quick Dry Oil-Based Wall Spray Texture

Paso Robles, CA

I have an unusual problem. About 20 - 30 years ago previous homeowner had something sprayed on over the exterior stucco. Now this surface is peeling in many places. I can scrap off those areas that are peeling, but the rest remains solidly attached. The underlying stucco is solid, but there's now a difference in texture between the original stucco (very fine) and the sprayed on stuff (very thick). I'm looking for a product that will allow me to match the thicker stuff before I prime and paint. Is this item or are any of your products designed to address my challenge?

There could be a lot of variables involved here. But what ever you do you need to get as much of the peeling product off. You might get some estimates just to see how much a pro would charge or at least get an idea how good or bad it is. Or go to you-tube sometimes you can find very good videos on DYI type jobs. Thank you for your inquiry. We do not have a product that will fix this issue. The only product we have is a small tube of Stucco Patch that covers up to 1sq ft. if applied thinner. I apologize we dont have anything you can use to help fix the issue with your stucco.

Pro Grade 25 oz. Dual Control Orange Peel Quick Dry Oil-Based Wall Spray Texture is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spray-on wall texture Easy to use. Just spray on wall (or other surface), allow to dry, and sand to desired texture. However, final result does depend on the distance from the surface being sprayed. Spray too close to the surface and the result is a texture that is too thick and clumpy. Spray too far away from the surface results in insufficient texture. So, in other words, the final effect depends on ithe skill of the user so expect some trial and error mistakes.
