The fan is quite large and works great in our living room. Our celings are 22ft in height. My husband was able to install without any problems. Honestly, Hunter fans are extremely easy to install unlike others. The fan took me by surprise because I expected the speed of rotation to be extremely fast but it wasn't. however, it does circulate the air really well. The only con is the lack of stain on the edge of the blades. I had to color them in with a stain pen.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jweaver223 Excellent Fan for value price
This fan is as described and straightforward to install. As it is big I wouldn't advise taking shortcuts, such as installing the blades before hanging. I put it on a 16' vaulted ceiling, replacing a little 48" fan that looked silly. I purchased a 72" downrod that matched it so the fan would be at the recommended height. Works just as I hoped it would. Low speed is very low, so it is peaceful to be around in cooler weather. In contrast, high speed is what you would want in hot weather, such as we get here in Houston. The unit is quiet and unobtrusive, but classy looking in such a large area.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RichardB Beautiful fan! I have wanted a larger diameter fan and finally chose the Brayden.
I chose the Brayden for several reasons, for it's size in a large great room, and for the styling of the lights. I wanted a large size fan because even a 52" fan can look somewhat small in a room that is over 20" X 20". The 70" diameter just looks better in a large room. A large room also requires more air movement, and in that respect I'm somewhat disappointed. The Brayden does move a lot of air, but it also turns at a slower speed. It seems that a 52" turning at a higher RPM moves almost as much air, but then you usually notice more noise from a faster turning fan. With the Brayden you get the air movement because of the larger blades, but because of the slower speed it is almost totally silent.
The lights present mixed feelings. I love the way they look, simple but stylish. Unfortunately the dark color of the globes prevent them from producing a lot of light. Even after replacing the standard bulbs with brighter ones, the light is less than expected. So if you are looking for a light that will be your primary source of light and brightly light up a large room, you may be disappointed.
Other than those bits of criticism, I am well satisfied with the fan. The fan blades did come with several chips and defects in the finish, but a quick call to Hunter resulted in a new set of blades being sent out within about a week. It is a great looking (although dark) fan that so far really seems to fit the bill. I would recommend it.

This is about the light kit. I have to readily fiddle with the globes to get them to stop making noises as the fan is on the high setting and vibrates them.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jojo Great looking, but poor functionality.
This fan has 3 speeds: Slow, Slower, Slowest. As a room accessory, it's quite beautiful. But on my roofed patio, with a 10' ceiling in the FL summer heat, it's a real disappointment. I can actually follow the spinning blade, set on the "fastest" speed, with my naked eyes. It's woefully inadequate.
If this product had been connected to electricity in the store, the lack of speed would have been obvious, and I wouldn't have bought it. Perhaps a salesperson (when you can find one) with better product knowledge could have headed this off before I brought it home and paid an electrician for the installation. Buyer beware.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by mclever Do not tighten the 2 screws connecting each blade to the motor
The fan looks nice, but that's the only good thing I have to say about it. Purchased two of these fans and both had the same issue. If it wasn't such a deal and exactly what we were looking for then I would have just returned them to HD.
Anyways, to save everyone else some time do not tighten the two machine screws that connect each fan blade to the motor all the way! They will rub. I put loctite on and backed them each down 1/8th turn and the fan now works like it should.
Oh yeah and if you call Hunter customer service they say make sure everything is tight and it shouldn't make noise..... and even the manufacture is out of these fans so they must be getting discontinued. At least the motor has a lifetime warranty.

Picked 6 of them up on clearance for $60. Marked down from $219. My only semi-major complaint, and I knew this before I bought them, was that a remote control was not included. Had I paid $219 I would have expected a remote. A minor issue is the color difference between the sides of the blades is minor. Would be nice to have a more drastic choice. A final complaint is the globes... they diminish the brightness of any bulb by quite a bit. Would be nice if they were more opaque.
But overall am super pleased. Probably overkill size-wise for the rooms I put them in, but they run quiet, move the air well, didn't have to balance the blades, and look fantastic.

Wow, talk about moving AIR!
So, I'm well known for "overkill", (hence, a 70 inch fan!) but when the hot days in March this year hit, these fans (one in each bedroom and one in the living room) nixed the heat. On medium, while our neighbors were cranking their AC, we were more than comfortable with these spinning ;))
I'd recommend and purchase these fans again in a HEARTBEAT.
True, I got them 'On Special', for $153/ea, and am one happy cool camper!
