i'm looking for a white ceiling fan (without light) that can be installed with remote or switch for my glass-enclosed sunroom. Aside from aesthetics and performance, i'm also concerned with DURABILITY.

Answer:
We have 2 of these in our screen porch since 2002 and still holding up beautifully. No discoloring or warping and they get a workout here in the summer months. Actually ordering another pair as replacement due to a lightning strike that fried both of them last summer..

Answer:
It's pretty good quality, so I think a long time. I would suppose the plastic blades would be more durable than wood. Damp rated means it will take dampness, like outdoors, better than one that isn't.

Thank you for your question! I can truly understand how durability is important to you. Because of the different environments these outdoor blades can be mounted in, we do not put a blade life on them. The most durable outdoor blade is plastic. Plastic blades are included with this fan. This fan is also damp rated, which means that this fan can be used in humid & damp locations. Because of the damp rating, it would be best to mount this fan in covered porch, patio, or sunroom area. The fan is not suited to get soaked or wet. If you planning to mount an outdoor fan in a wet location, please use our "wet rated" fans. Two wet rated model numbers are 53211 or 53054. Read Less

Answer:
The electrician ran the fan wires to the switch box, then I installed a 3 speed wall fan. Easy job about $20.
The fan comes with no remote, but you can add any kind you'd like:

Answer:
The blade size is determined by the distance from the edge of one blade to the center of the motor and then doubling that number. Basically tip-to-tip.

Answer:
Thanks for your question! Yes, this fan is compatible with a vaulted ceiling. The fan mounting plate can handle an angle up to 34 degrees. If the ceiling has more than a 34 degree angle, then we suggest using the Hunter Angled Ceiling Kit along with an extension downrod. This will ensure the fan blades have enough clearance.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good for the purpose This was a replacement for almost the exact same fan we had previously, but which had stopped working correctly. I was glad the manufacturer still makes this model, since it's one of a pair on our front porch. (The other fan still works fine -- not sure why one would die sooner than the other.) Ordering was quick and easy, and it was delivered a little sooner than promised. Our electrician had to make some adjustments to the installation package, which meant it cost us a little more, but he said it was not a big deal -- the way it attached to the ceiling was slightly different this time. But not being do-it-ourself types, we certainly couldn't have managed it. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This fan did the trick! We had to replace a fan on our back porch, but after 16 years, couldn't find a match to the other 2 fans. So our simple fix turned into a longer process. Have always had good luck with Hunter fans, so were happy to see the good ratings for this fan. The damp-rated feature is a definite plus in the Houston humidity, and the clean lines of the design make keeping the fans clean easier. They were easy to install, and we couldn't be happier. Hopefully they will keep the mosquitoes at bay, at the back door anyway! June 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Fan Hunter makes a good quiet fan. I have two of these fans, one installed inside the family room and another out on a covered balcony. Both work flawlessly and I expect years of quiet service. June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great economical product Easy installation, quiet and economical for a screened porch. April 26, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by I am returning this item not light kit adaptable as stated, only set up for CPF not incandescent!!! April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Happy with all 4 fans just installed. These fans were reinstalled on our old fan long downrods. Easy to do. Great quaiity and balance. They are virtually silent. January 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by VERY LOW QUALITY The paint finish was of a very low quality with bare metal exposed in many areas along with manufacturing scratches. A number of the threaded screw holes were stripped and blades were chipped. September 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Fan! We purchased two of these fans for our sunroom and so far we are loving them. We have purchased Hunters fans previously and have been pleased with their performance. We would recommend these fans. September 8, 2015
