Customer Questions & Answers

Does it have a lock on it so that you can lock it up with a key for your tools and valuables protection

Asked by: JH7
Yes, the top locks. The drawers and anything in the top will be secured. Nothing in the open space will be secure of course

Dimensions of the bottom opening

Can anyone tell me what the height of the opening from the bottom of the drawers to the top of the lip of the bottom shelf. Then the width of the large opening. I am looking to see if I would be able to fit a tool case underneath .
Asked by: Carma
The previous answers are correct on dimensions, but they don't factor in the bolts that are holding the casters on, they stick up 1/2"... Hence the bottom is not completely flat above the castors. Just wanted to add that as I had to adjust for it.

what gauge of metal this product built with?
Asked by: alex
Hi Alex. I don't have a way to measure the gauge, but both the frame and the storage unit are very sturdy. I have had mine for about a month, have it loaded up pretty well with auto repair tools, and really glad I bought it! Hope that helps.

Can this handle the outdoors?

I know this is great inside the shop but can anyone tell me how it fairs outside? Anybody tried leaving this outside or know if it can handle the elements?
Asked by: Penaltyman
It's not really any differently constructed than any other Husky toolbox - leaving it outside to the elements probably isn't a good idea

Customer Reviews

28 in. 2-Drawer Utility Cart, Black is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 57.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Nice Heavy Gauge Steel, much thicker than the competitions. The paint/powder coat is even and well applied. No runs or drips. The drawers are awfully shallow, not a bad thing, just didn't realize how shallow they were from the internet photos. Went together in about 25 min. Woulda been faster if I'd had an extra hand. Overall, darn good value for the money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Turn a rating 3 to a 5 easy Good product but u can make it a great cart by replacing the small cheap m6/16 bolts and nuts with 1/2 inch 5/16 nuts and bolts at a cost of about 7 bucks u will need 32 of each also I used large flat washers 16 of them when I put on the casters after I did that my rating went. 3 to a 5

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good enough - plus some installation tips The drawers have a good solid feel to them. There is a lever to let you secure the drawers, plus it has a key - so you can keep sticky fingers out of it as needed. I am not a mechanic so it has all the space I need for wrenches and sockets. The instructions were pretty basic. Here is some missing stuff that may help. My legs had tabs one end. That end needs to go to the bottom tray. The tabs will not fit right if you try to attach them the drawer unit. The handle goes in the second hole on the drawer unit. The lid will not close if you use the top hole. Also, there are two set of bolts with the handle - they aren't all in the main bolt package. Last, the instructions correctly state to install the caster bolts with the nut on top (inside the tray). I installed it bolt up for a neater finish but the casters snagged on the bottom of the bolt. I zapped it with my grinder to fix. You can judge accordingly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great workshop addition While I had a little trouble carrying this to my workshop ( due in part I suspect to being 70) I found to easy to assemble. I reads one of the other reviews before assembling and I did buy the larger bolts and nuts. I did not have to use flat washer with the casters as that reviewer suggested. The top lifts easily the drawers are nice and smooth and the bottom storage is perfect for my needs. I had planned for months to build a rolling cart in my workshop but never got to doing it. I saw this and was impressed with the sale price and features. I Highly recommend this to anyone and I believe it to be an outstanding value for the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shop mechanic Great bang for your buck roll cart. Easily tops out competitors in its price range, especially if caught on sale. Drawers could be a little taller, but fits all my essentials in my work as a professional inspector and service tech. Can't complain as I paid half-off what it regularly goes for. Have found no issues whatsoever with the assembly of this product as I took my time and used common sense to ensure proper fitment. Will now just have to make sure the caster bearings stay greased up and this cart should last me a long time. It gets constant work rolling around a busy shop.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice box for the money, I combined the boxes as a workbench... They work well. Nice drawers, Nice hydraulic lifts, the units are very solid. Added a toolbox under one and a little spray paint, they work Great!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Cart for Light to Medium Duty I can't speak about the assembly, I told HD I would take it if I could have the one that was ready to go and they agreed. I'm a teacher and my heavily used media cart fell apart the day before classes resumed. I quickly discovered that no one kept things like that in stock so I ran down to Home Depot and discovered this one. I'm often disappointed with emergency or last resort buys, but not this time. It's very sturdy, the drawers are a nice and smooth, most importantly, when I burn out in the classroom it will be great in my garage to organize small tools. I can say that it handled the first test great. It rolled great across a very rough parking lot with the two cases of water that broke my previous plastic cart. Sadly I did not realize the key was not inside. That's my fault though.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from you get what you pay for just as always, you get what you pay for. the cart itself is pretty nice and should do the job just fine. the included hardware is pretty bad. the bolts for putting the majority of it together are undersized for the holes, are the useless phillips/flathead combo head, and are cheese-grade steel. they work just fine, but save yourself some annoyance and get better bolts.
