This unit may have a little more sheen than the brushed nickel faucets and fixtures, but it is a nice cabinet, and should match OK. When the cabinet door is closed, you see only the mirror, except from the sides where it protrudes a bit from the wall to allow for the hinge swing.

The frame for this medicine chest does not have a shiny finish so it should look alright with your brushed nickel fixtures. I do wonder, however, if the simple design of this cabinet might clash with your venetian glass mirror.

I installed one of these for a customer, and she really likes it. I don't have an exact dimension for the interior depth of the shelves, but believe it to be about 4" (5" total depth of the unit, minus the thickness of the door and back panel).
That said, a standard TP roll might fit on the shelf OK, but those "double" and "mega" rolls would get squeezed into a bit of an egg shape with the cabinet door

Answer:
Super-glue a tab onto the back of the door at the top, and attach a small chain to it. Attach the other end of the chain to the top of the inside of the cabinet with a sheet metal screw. Ensure that the positioning of the attachment points and the length of the chain provide a "stop" at the right spot when the door swings open. Not elegant, but simple and effective.

Unlike the answer below indicates, the door actually opens further than 90 degrees. I have two of these medicine cabinets, both in configurations where they are on a side wall next to a large plate glass mirror on the adjacent wall. One of the bathrooms has only a couple of inches between the medicine cabinet on the one wall and the adjacent mirror on the other wall so when I open the door, it hits the other mirror. As one writer suggests, the mirror can be mounted to open in either direction but that does not help this situation because I would have to lean around the door (since it is on a side wall) to use it and that does not work well in the space. The other bathroom has a bit more space between the cabinet and the mirror on the adjacent wall so there is no issue with that door hitting the adjacent mirror. The Kohler company response indicates that the door can be adjusted, but unfortunately provides no information on how to do that. I have tried bending the hinge but it won't budge (probably good that it is so sturdy). Thank you for your ideas--so far, I have had to resort to using the small rubber bumpers on the outside of the medicine cabinet to soften the blow when it hits the mirror in the problem bathroom. Any other ideas? Read Less

Answer:
You can install this unit for the door to open from the Left to right or right to left...so, when you open the door it will not hit the mirror...you just turn the unit 180 degrees before you install it....so don't get too stuck on the idea of only opening the cabinet one way, because the hinges do go past 90 degrees and you can't adjust that.

16 in. W x 20 in. H x 5 in. D Aluminum Recessed Medicine Cabinet is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 220.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Medicine cabinet If you need a smaller cabinet this one is very nice, has 2 glass shelves inside. Good for the money. The only thing that would make this better is if the mirror was larger than the cabinet part that goes into the wall 1 for bigger mirror apoearance and 2 to hide any imperfect wall area where the actual cabinet went in the wall.

As a remodeler, I have installed this unit in many other houses and locations so finally got around putting one in my house when priced right. It has mirrors inside the cabinet as well as both sides of door. I prefer this brand to many others as I use their commodes too when given a preference. This is a great product, at a good price, and changing medicine cabinet to remove wood framed unit needing refinishing made a big difference. Of course light reflecting off mirror make the small bath appear brighter and bigger.

While this cabinet is a better product than anything else in its price range by far, there were several frustrating quality issues. The cabinet arrived with a few minor dings in the metal frame, which I elected to ignore rather than go through the hassle of exchanging it. After it was hung on the wall, I noticed that some of the metal parts that compose the cabinet framing do line up properly, and seem like they might separate easily. The worst issue is that the door is crooked. I repeatedly removed and replaced the cabinet thinking maybe there was something wrong with my level. When I ruled out that the cabinet was hanging unevenly, I removed and replace the door numerous times, and fussed with the hinges. The instructions state that the hinges are adjustable, but the hinges in the illustration are different from those actually on the cabinet. I suspect they belong to a pricier model. The hinges on this cabinet are not adjustable. I was unable to correct the problem, but will no doubt be working on a solution in the months to come, every time I see my crooked cabinet! Still, it looks fine for the price, and was fairly easy to install.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cabinet Size and Hinge Adjustment It’s a nice enough cabinet, but there are some things you should know. The cabinet is not 16’ X 20”. The mirror is 15-3/8” X 19-3/8”, while the frame of the cabinet box is a bit larger, 15-1/2” X 19-1/2”. I had to reduce the size of our existing wall opening, so that the cabinet frame would cover the opening. If the cabinet were 16” X 20”, it would have covered the opening without modifications. The other thing to be aware of is that the hinges that were installed on the cabinet were different from those shown in the instructions that came with the cabinet. The instructions show a European style hinge that is adjustable in three (3) dimensions. The European style hinges on our cabinet will only allow the door to be raised or lowered. The up dated ONLINE instructions show the hinge that came with the cabinet. Unfortunately, our door sags a bit and when closed the top corner doesn’t touch the cabinet. That corner comes within a 1/4” of the cabinet. Adjustable hinges would allow this to be corrected. Kohler is sending me another pair of hinges, but I’ll have to remove the cabinet to swap them out. Still, it’s an attractive cabinet and it generally fit in the opening of our older medicine cabinet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As advertised I ordered the cabinet on a Thursday around 11:00 and it was on my doorstep by noon the next day. It was packaged well and showed up with no defects. The unit itself was easy to install and fit perfectly in my existing cut out. Mentioned in one of the reviews is the actual cabinet size (not mirror) which is 19.5 H x 15.5 W, those are the correct dimensions for this cab. The mirror is very nice with beveled edges and the mirrored interior is a nice touch. Overall, I'd highly recommend both Home Depot and this product.
Date published: 2016-03-29
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kohler medicine cabinet Cabinet didn't exactly match the dimensions in the product literature, so installation in existing wall cutout (replacing old cabinet) was more complex than I expected, requiring shims. There were no instructions regarding drilling holes for mounting screws, so I had to figure that out, with a few false starts along the way. Corners of mirror door should be rounded to avoid scratches. But it is a beautiful cabinet. I love the mirrors on the inside.
