The motor, spit and tines are very well made and are super heavy duty. The spit rod itself is a half inch in diameter, more than enough strength to throw anything short of a whole pig on it. The tines are 4 prog units; able to keep your chicken from flapping its legs and wings while turning. Overall, the unit is built very well and exudes quality.
Where I find the system to fall short is in the attachment design. I own the Kitchen Aid model 720 with side burner and searing station. Installation of the motor bracket prevents the lid from the searing station to lift up into the operating position. In order to use the rotisserie function of this grill I must attach the motor bracket each time the rotisserie is used then remove it when searing is required. Lastly, the spit would have benefitted from the inclusion of an adjustable counterweight at the handle.

I just installed the replacement regulator today 5/31/16, after purchasing grill and rotisserie 5/08/16. IFD I have been out of town for a week and the replacement may have come days ago. The regulator seems to be the solution. We will use the grill for the 1st time tonight. Will try the rotisserie soon. I think a recommendation is skittle premature.

Nice STAINLESS STEEL ROTISSERIE GRILLING KIT. Works well with on our Kitchen Aid grill. Great results with the infra red burner so far.

I've only used the dang thing once, but I thought it did well. It seems to have more uniform heating than my last one and I love the separate searing and side burners.

It took about 30 min. to set up, after which, I put it thru a test run with a roast. With the KitchenAid grill's roasting burner, it took 2 and 1/2 hours to smoke and roast it too perfection. Going to try a port roast next.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by BubbaBob no counter wright, does NOT mount to all Kitchen Aid
After 25 years with Weber, I finally switched and bought a Kitchen Aid grill, model 720-0893. This is all stainless, 5 burners, a side burner (right) and a side searer (left). The size of the grill makes it great for rotisserie cooking. I ordered the 36" rotisserie. The instructions are poor, the screw heads undersized. Worst, the motor mount does not allow you to open the side searer. I called customer service and they told me I would have to remove and install the bracket each time. Are they kidding? That coupled with the fact that there is no counter weight included for balanced turning has me putting this back in the box and returning it. I will look for a different one.

I will update this when the replacement arrives. It seems to be of high quality but the motor did not turn.
