Answer:
It will fit a standard box provided there is enough depth to accept this and any wiring as it does take up a lot of space (depth wise). The height and width will fit any standard box. The less wiring you have in your box, the more room for this. You will have to either try it or measure the available space in your box and compare it with the specs.

Answer:
Yes, it's designed to fit in a standard 1-gang box, along the lines of this product:
http://www.homedepot.com/p/202546989
I would not recommend using a shallow one, though. It is similar in size and shape to a GFCI outlet.

Answer:
I believe so. The receptacle I replaced was one of four in the master bedroom and not any special kind of outlet as far as I can tell. I think the face sticks out a little more than your normal flush decor outlets, but not by much. It's a fat receptacle but I didn't really have to jam it in there.

Answer:
Yes, although since it is twice the volume of a standard device, the number of wires and connections is limited. I installed it in a deep double gang box with two connections, five conductors and a 15-amp switch, no problem.

Yes, though if there are several junctions in the box it may be tricky to make it fit in. I had no problems mounting this in a normal single gang box.

The Apple phone charger is 5 watts and the Apple iPad charger is 10. I assume the USB wall outlet can crank out more and would charge devices faster. Can you tell me what is the wattage? Thanks!

The answer from "ewicky " is correct. Leviton Expert, the USB certainly does NOT produce 216 watts; you based that on 120v, not 5v.

amps x volts = watts
This can do 3.6 amps x 5 volts = 18 watts of total USB power. Enough for one tablet and one phone.

Can I replace an outlet where the top is always on, but the bottom is switched for a lamp

This question is from 15 Amp Decora Combination Duplex Receptacle and USB Charger - White

My current outlet has

Top = always on
Bottom = switched -> Lamp is connected.

I desire to have the Top = always on
USB = always on
Bottom = switched -> Lamp plugged in here.

Most standard outlets have a strip of metal that can be cut to separate them, so that half can be switched power. The picture of this shows nothing of the parts that you connect, so it is not clear.

Answer:
No, you cannot separate power between the outlets. There's only two screw terminals on the side for hot & neutral. Lowes carries Hubbel and Cooper brands, and neither of them can have separate power either.

No, a single screw is used for up to two neutral (white) connections, another single screw is used for up to two hot (black) connections. There is no provision for separate power for the electrical outlets.

Answer:
The use of a Decora faceplate is recommended. A standard faceplate will work mechanically, but the outlet will protrude from the faceplate enough that the sides of the outlet will be slightly visible. Note that some of the sides of the outlet are black in color. As the Decora faceplate is thicker than the standard faceplate, it will be a make for a more professional looking installation.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Duplex Outlet with 2 USB Charging ports Does just what it is designed to do. Would like to see a smaller depth profile as the box I installed it in had very little space, but I did manage to get it in. September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great idea! Great device! It's so convenient to have USB chargers with the plugs on the counter in the kitchen. All of our electronic devices end up there for charging. As a journeyman electrician people must understand the receptacle/USB combo is larger than a typical standard or decora receptacle because the USB ports need a transformer to step down the 120v coming into the device. Along with the step down transformer there is over current protection and their so called "smart chip." With all these other components I feel the outlet is an acceptable size. Thinking of getting a contractor pack to give as gifts to family members. Great idea! October 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by USB / 110 outlet Outlet was very high quality and works great. It was very easy to install and I continue to use it daily for all of my USB charging devices June 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I like it A nice option when you have several pieces of electronics that need charging. Downside is you can only plug in electrical cords with small plugs if you want to use the USB ports and electrical outlets. Make sure you have an electrical box large enough hold the outlet and wiring as the plug takes up a lot of space in the box. October 18, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worthless Product This outlet works. However, if you use the outlet with anything other than a small plug, forget using the usb outlets. There simply isn't enough space with this design. If you're in the market for usb outlets, opt for the style that has only one electrical outlet. October 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product for charging phones, Ipads and Portables while still being able to use the receptacle. Great for guests to use also. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great This worked just as expected. I like that it still has two outlets and 2 USB outlets. It was really easy to install. I had no issues at all. The only thing was I forgot to buy a new cover for it (the one for a traditional outlet won't work). It was a minor inconvenience to drive back to Home Depot to buy that cover, but it was my fault for not checking it before I left the store the first time. October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is a great outlet for charging all your electronic devices. I have installed three of these at different locations. Now I don't have to carry around the charger brick, just the USB cable. Therefore the cord does not stick out of the outlet as far which can be handy. Has enough power to charge tablets as well. Well worth it to keep areas organized. October 25, 2016
