I have several outlets in the basement ceiling that work off light switches. I bought one of these awhile ago and it's perfect for adding light to my laundry room. I'm buying a 2nd one for another room in my basement. Not sure why people had trouble getting it to work. Just "plug it in," add a light bulb and that's it!

I picked this up to serve as an interim light in the bedroom. I've taken the ceiling fixture down but have to install a braced junction box before I can put up a ceiling fan. We still need light in the meantime, so I bought this, ran the hot and neutral wires through the plug prongs, screwed in a CFL, and we're back in business. Can't argue with a $2 solution, either.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by James Handy little item.....light in an outlet, but it doesn't have to be a big bulb
Occasionally, I've worked in businesses, that for some reason they didn't have a light close to where it was actually needed. This handy little item fixes that problem very easily. You screw in a bulb, under 60 watts of course, & find an outlet. What's handier than that...I use mine to provide me with a night light in my bathroom, & I choose the bulb....usually a LED from Walmart, as they are cheaper on those types of bulbs than anyone. They are harder to find in Walmart, but the savings will overcome the issue of finding them.

They need to have one with a small cord attached to make it more versatile in length.
