AVOID this cooler! First, they are very noisy and they get noisier as time goes on and it gets very irritating. This alone is enough reason to avoid this, especially in a newly remodeled kitchen, every other appliance runs whisper quite, but not this. Additionally, the thermostat has issues and when you google this appliance or read other reviews there are actually videos on how to take apart the dividing shelf and repair the issues that make the thermostat go haywire! Really? I need to take aprt a NEW APPLICABLE and correct a manufactures defect??? Really bad choice, NEVER AGAIN will I but a MAGIC CHEF appliance and I will suggest to avaoid at all costs to anyone considering this appliance.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by EC Twice burned - do not buy
We inherited one with the house. I could fix several of the problems (fan not working, bad electrical connections), but then it just stopped cooling and I couldn't figure out how to fix it. Regrettably, we bought the same wine fridge because I had trouble finding the right dimensions to fit under our counter. The new one lasted 3 months before it stopped cooling. The warranty process was okay, until they determined it was too expensive to fix. So, now I am left with a 100 lb paper weight that I have to haul off to recycling...again. They did refund the purchase price...but not tax. You will lose money on this purchase and the environment will not thank you!

I bought a dual temperature wine cooler ( undercounter version) in March of 2015. Starting August of 2016 the unit fails to keep the temperature down. The coolest I get is 64F for the upper space and 75F for the lower space. I called the Magic Chef company to give me a list of repair shops in my area (it is out of warranty). They say that there are no repair services listed in my area that repair MC wine coolers. I read the other reviews (too late): there are lots of people experiencing the same very issue. I do not recommend this product. This is a poor quality product

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by terkolb Do NOT waste your money on this unit!!
Purchased early for a new home and by the time we tried it out long enough - found out it did not keep temps below the high 40 's and then it was out of warranty . Spent another $250 to repair , thinking, well it should work now rather than trashing it. Now out that money too and it still is not keeping temp that it is set at -and the recirculation not working correctly or something so there is ice built up inside the back of unit. have to pull out and thaw and then it is going in the trash!!

After shopping for a good replacement under counter wine cooler, I decided on this Majic Chef as the best value for the money. Most of the comparable units for the Kitchenaide I was replacing were all over $1,000. This one at Home Depot was priced at $499. With the 10% off sale they had that day, I purchased it for only $460. Looks great in the Butlers pantry of the home I am flipping, and will definitely help sell the property.

I ignored the reviews that stated this item only works for a while, then you have to manually defrost it periodically. I purchased this during a home remodel, so I didn't even plug it in until 3 months later. It worked great for about 3 months but after that, it started getting a couple degrees warmer every month. I tried defrosting it once, and this worked but it was a pain as I had to unload it, and remove it from the house as it would leave a huge puddle. Finally, It wouldn't cool below 50 degrees so I unloaded it again and tried to return it. Home Depot said it was past the 90 day period and sent me to the manufacturer. Oh joy, I was in luck as it had a one year warranty and someone came out and replaced the condensor. Alas, it only worked well for about 2 more months, now it is cooling just below room temperature. Once again, Home Depot said they can't do anything for me and it is no longer under warranty. The worst part is when I bought this item it was selling for $549. A lot of money for a decoration.
