Q:Why only 3 year warranty Even Ryobi does that. My other Milwaukee tools M12 & M18 have 5 year warranties. The Ryobi version is 1/3 the price of this one right now. I love my Milwaukee hand tools and power tools, but this doesn't inspire confidence.

A:  ya that will work, just like anything you could use on a regular dynafile ive used on this thang and works great, ive found the scotch bright belts tend to be a bit more floppy when spinning and wear very quick if you hit any burr's on your stainless

A:  You?d be better off with a angle grinder, being that the disk are harder than the sand paper.

A:  yes, id reccomend putting some of the 1/2" sticky back dynafile pads that go underneath the belt for a nice hard, but not too hard, flat spot for making a nice sharp/straight edge. anything you can do with any other grinder you can basically do with this

            Grinding threw the rough
This is a great tool. It can take the rough edge off a weld or put an edge on a machete. I like that it is totally cordless and uses the batteries i have. The ease of changing belts is a real plus when using the tool a lot. I like the compactness of the tool. You are not having to use two hands to wrestle around some big clumsy tool. Its perfect for any job that requires smoothing out rough edges Great tool for DIY'ers!

Adjustable, Reversible and Easy to Use!
This is the first M12 tool I have purchased, needed a small belt sander, already had M12s from the Milwaukee heated jacket I got last year and vuala…great deal. I was not expecting this much power from such a small sander with just 12 volts, but it is impressive. It will fit in tight spaces, it’s adjustable and reversible. Strong enough to remove spot welds and good enough to sand down nooks and crannies in a staircase. The charge lasts quite a bit and replacement or additional batteries are readily available at a competitive price. Milwaukee never disappoints!

Well made and easy to use
In review of a: Milwaukee M12 fuel 12 V lithium-ion brushless, cordless 3/8 inch by 13 inch band file. When I got this I wasn't sure how much to expect I thought it would come in handy around the house for sharpening tools and heavy knives. I was quite impressed I sharpened a knife on my multi tool that was in tough shape with a 120 grit belt and I was surprised how fast and smooth it cut, then I switched to a 80 grit belt and sharpen my axe removing the excess material without a problem. The setup and belt changes are very easy loosen one hand nut the while pushing on end of file bar push in locking pin slip on belt release the locking pin swing cover shut and tighten hand nut. This is a well-thought-out design that works great. But that's what we come expect from Milwaukee tools.

            Milwaukee M12 FUEL 12V Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 3/8 in. x 13 in. Bandfile (Tool-Only)
This little bandfile is a huge improvement over the corded one I’ve used for many years. Being battery powered is nice and convenient but I like that it is smaller and can get into tighter spots. I use it for woodworking and metalworking. It’s great for sanding in spots that I can hardly get my fingers into and I use it for cleaning up welds that, well, didn’t turn out the best. Its features include variable speed with two speed ranges and it can be used in reverse.

So many uses.. just get one!
I do some basic metal fabrication and home DIY projects. When building with rivets, sometimes the pin doesn't fully remove from the rivet head and needs to be cut off. Whats left after cutting with side cutters is a menacing razor sharp piece of finger-ripping, stitches-requiring aluminum. With my lastest project requiring no less than 70 rivets, I was done using files and rotary tools to remove these small finger killers. I picked up this M12 bandfile. What took a few minutes of filing now takes just a few seconds and is much safer. As for the home projects, anyone who has done baseboards and quarter-round likely knows the inside corner hack (cut at a 45 degree and remove the exposed wood to make a perfect angle). I was doing some quarter round at my brother's house and thought of this tool... perfect for the job! Only took a few seconds to remove the unwanted area. It was easy to use and super convenient. It has multiple speeds, forward and reverse, and rotating bandfile head for easy storage or getting into tight spaces. Love this tool!

            Great welders tool.
The Milwaukee M12 FUEL 12V Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 1/2 in. x 18 in. Bandfile was designed for spot weld removal. The arm rotates 360 degrees to help you reach almost any space you need to get to. The belt can be easily changed without the use of any tools. This bandfile also features 2 speeds and forward and reverse options with just a simple push of a button

Perfect size for those tough to get places.
Beautiful little tool. This thing is so nice and versatile, I really like it. Its simple and easy to use for sanding and filing. Its small size lets you get it into places that are tight and the adjusting arm also makes it nice and easy to get just the right angle. The ability to use a small battery is also nice. So far I have only used it on metal projects and it has worked flawlessly. I also like the easy with which you can change out the sanding belt. Very easy to use and if you are looking for a bandfile then this little guy is the tool for you!!!

            Well engineered
A lot of design went into this, and it has produced a very robust and versatile tool. In the box you get the tool, two 60 grit abrasive bands, a ⅛” Allen wrench and the instructions. You supply your own M12 battery. Placing a band on the tool is easy and requires no tools. A cover opens up after turning a thumb screw, you then compress the arm and a clip holds it in place. The band is then slipped over the end roller, and the drive wheel. Releasing the clip allows the arm to extend again and hold the band tension. Swing the cover back and tighten the thumbscrew to hold it closed. There are two speeds and you can run it in both directions. The speed is also controllable by the trigger with each speed range. There is also a lock button to lock it on. A light illuminates the area below the handle. The arm can be rotated freely through 360° simply by opening a lever, rotating the arm and closing the locking lever again. This also allows it to be folded to take up minimal space for storage. The instructions also describe how to adjust the end roller if the band wants to wander left or right, calling for a 1/16” hex wrench. It certainly cleans up metal very nicely, and “bandfile” is a perfect description of the tool, filing material away very easily. See picture. Excellent sander
The Milwaukee M12 1/2"x18" band file/sander is a very well designed and crafted tool. The tool fits very well in your hand naturally, with the controls within easy reach of your fingers while in operation. The tool has tool different speeds of operation and can be ran in both forward and reverse direction. The angle and position of the band can easily be adjusted to any position in 360 degrees around by a simple lever on the head. Belt changes are very simple with a side opening door that gives you complete access to the drive wheel and the nose follow wheel for quick changes. The tool does come with a few sample belts to try with it.
