Answer:
each packet is pre measured so you put one whole packet in the feeder. It all dispenses in about 15 min or so. The feeder comes with one packet to get you started. Then if you get the big container of miracle gro, it has several pre measured packets inside.

There is not a restriction, but you would probably want to leave a little time for the ground to absorb the fertilizer.

Yes, you can feed before a rain shower. I count to 15 in my head for each plant/group that the spray pattern hits before moving on to the next one.

It worked once it was attached securely and the water pressure was turned up higher...but that's just to stop the leaking. It's rare that you'll see a consistent stream or spray of smurf water. It's here and there and not enough to feed your garden. I seemed to be wasting a lot of water.

Answer:
We do have different advice depending on where the product is leaking from. If the leak is coming from the sprayer head, then it is likely due to the washer under the sprayer head being broken or dislodged. If the leak is coming from the connection between the jar and the sprayer, the jar may not be sealed tightly enough or the jar may not be sealed on straight. It's also possible that water pressures Read More

If the leak is coming from the sprayer head, then it is likely due to the washer under the sprayer head being broken or dislodged. If the leak is coming from the connection between the jar and the sprayer, the jar may not be sealed tightly enough or the jar may not be sealed on straight. It's also possible that water pressures over 80 psi could cause a leak. If the product leaks at the hose connection, check if there is a black rubber washer inside the hose connector. If the washer is there, the issue may be that your garden hose connection is too short to get a good seal. If the hose end is 5/8 of an inch or less, this is likely the issue and can be solved by adding a rubber washer to the inside of the hose connector.
We would like to speak with you further about this issue. At your earliest convenience, we ask that you call us at 877-220-3089 and refer to your review so that we can discuss this issue as well as our product guarantee.

If its leaking around the Pattern Selector Head then there is nothing that you can repair. If it's leaking at the Inlet where the Hose connects and your Rubber washer is in place and in good condition, then the Male End of your Hose has too short a thread to fully enter into the Feeder's Inlet and compress the Rubber Washer. I had the same problem and solved it by purchasing a Flex Connect Shut-off Hose Adapter (Gilmour or Nelson); this device has a long male thread which allows a tight, leak-free connection to the Feeder. An additional advantage is that the Adapter's Shut-off allows you to turn off the water flow/pressure and change the device attached to you hose without having to go back to the a Hose Water Supply Valve. FYI: By some trial and error I discovered that (kind of counterintuitively) the feeder leaks when the water pressure getting to the feeder is low. In other words, a bad hose connection at the faucet or intervening hose link or even a kink anywhere in the hose will cause the feeder to leak at the joint near where the hose is connected. My typical application for any plants(s) within the spread of the Feeder's Pattern is 15 seconds. Unless your foliage is right next to a body of water (e.g. pond, stream) I doubt that short an application time is sufficient for the liquid to have penetrated deep enough to affect ground water in most elevations.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by leaks excellent way to apply water soluble fertilizer, however, water leaks from the handle that connects to the hose, this is a common issue with each sprayer I have purchased, after a month of use, you get soaked using the product August 16, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Use it upside down This only works if you use it upside down. I think they need to redesign it. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase ever. I have numerous plants and large pots around my house and on my deck, Miracle Grows self watering feeder makes my life so much easier and my flowers are gorgeous! I whole heartedly recommend this product. August 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by LEAKS BADLY AT HOSE CONNECTION - GET SOAKED EVERYTIME YOU USE IT I returned 2 sprayers for leaking at the hose connection. All the other leaking posts here are correct. I finally discovered that once the hose is connected, turned on, back pressure builds and stops the leak. The new self collapsing self retracting hoses take so long to build pressure that you get 5-10 seconds of blowback water on you. EVERYTIME you turn water on or off with sprayer and hose connected, you GET SOAKED. There is no by-pass setting so you MUST disconnect the feeder if you water daily and feed every 7 days as recommended. BADLY DESIGNED product. Our parents generation sent us to the moon. Our generation cant even make a leakfree sprayer. Oh how America has fallen. June 23, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Miracle- gro Next-generation This one is no good you really have to bring the old style back the one that you were able to take the one end and you could connect a hose on the front end July 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Miracle grow killer Killed most of my flowers, more than $100 worth. Came pre-measured July 26, 2016
