Answer:
Full sun or close to it, most of the night. But I'm asleep when they stop working,so I would guess at least 8 hrs. in the long summer sun. Winter?

Rated 3.1 out of 5 by 19 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not great, but not bad for the price I picked up 2 packs of these over the Christmas sales. I used more than half to make solar lanterns with canning cars. It's a lot of wasted plastic, but we thought they made nice gifts. For that purpose, these work pretty well. They just barely fit in a wide mouth canning jar. I also put some along my walkway. Not very bright, but as long as they are right next to the sidewalk, they are OK. Two on opposite sides lights the walkway most of the night. I'd say they have about a one foot effective radius, with a dim light out about two feet. I was glad I had the extra stakes, as I broke every other one I put in the ground, always towards the base. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty good For $25 worth it. Just don't hammer them in the ground in El Paso dirt. Dig a hole and wet it first! The landscape edging lighting is also solar which was bought at HD. May 7, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Broken I received these in the mail about a week ago and was very excited to install them in my front yard. However, after opening the box and beginning to assemble them I found THREE of the solar caps were broken (the round edges were chipped right off) and on FOUR of the glass tops the glass was either chipped in the corners or they were cracked all the way through. Overall, I am grateful I got them during a sale because there is no way I would pay full price for these as they are clearly very cheaply made. The ones I could salvage look nice and were super easy to install, but I will not be recommending these to anyone. May 13, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible manufacturer customer service! These lights are ok. Not very bright but look pretty around our little pond. Two of the lights don't work. Called the manufacturer twice. Sounded like someone's home answering machine. Had be ugly with my message the second time to even get them to call me back (took two weeks from the first call). They won't replace the lights. Said to let Home Depot do it in the store. Item isn't carried in the store and has been out of stock online so I've been stuck with two broken lights for about two months. If I had to do it over I wouldn't buy them. July 9, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall good, but 20% failure rate I like the product as a whole. However, two of the ten lights received did not work (20% failure rate out of the box). When returned to the store, they do not carry this specific product, and I was given a replacement for the two non-working lights, but they do not match the original product. June 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty solar lights Lights were easy to assemble and they look great in my flower bed, lighting my walkway. June 2, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Well Made but output VERY LITTLE LIGHT While made well and easily put together, this unit puts out VERY LITTLE light as compared to the many many LED solar based lights I've had in the past. I would not recommend nor would I purchase them again. June 9, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bright light These lights are very DIM ! Bright in the name is a misnomer! Very disappointed in the amount of light provided! May 19, 2015
