Hi I need to know the size of this kit as it comes when delivered to the store for pickup, not the actual fire pit dimensions. I need to make sure it will fit in the back of my truck that has a canopy on it. Also what is the weight?

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 36 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Simple, functional, attractive... This fire pit was easy to assemble and provides a nice centerpiece for our patio. It is important to have a level spot to start. There are two main components - the steel liner and the stones. Although the steel liner is designed to rest inside the two uppermost rings of stone, we used it as a template when placing the lower tiers. Once those stones were in place, we pulled out the liner and continued with the top layer. We opted to not use the adhesive just in case we wanted to move the fire pit. The stones fit so well that the final product is very stable. Read other reviews for tips on the adhesive. I chose to have the product delivered and it was a good investment. It'd take some work to get it on and off a truck without some sort of forklift. The entire parcel arrives on a pallet (see photo), wrapped in plastic, and pre-assembled. The downside is that you have to take it apart to install it. The upside is that you know what it's supposed to look like when you're finished. July 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by POOR QUALITY FOR THE PRICE!!!! AFTER I PURCHASED I FOUND ALMOST THE EXACT SAME THING FOR HALF THE PRICE AT A LOCAL HARDWARE STORE. THE MOST DISAPPOINTING THING WAS HALF MY BLOCKS CAME IN CHIPPED OR DAMAGED ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase I got this as a gift for my son-in-law. He gives it a perfect rating. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality and simple Any way to get a lot for this to make it larger in diameter?? May 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great fire pit! This fire pit looks really expensive, was super easy to assemble, and is made of actual stone. After looking at many options online, this seemed the best value by far. We installed ours on a concrete slab so I purchased 2 bags of sand for the bottom layer and then 4 backs of gray rock on top. The steel ring doesn't go to the bottom, so you need some sort of barrier (between the ground/concrete). We didn't use the constructive adhesive, so we can easily disassemble and move if needed - I don't think it's going anywhere. One note: I'm now thinking the limestone ring cap would really make this fire pit look custom, so considering purchasing that to really finish the look. April 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great fire pit love the fire pit, most of the reviews are accurate about the pit. Had 5 block come broken, called HD they got it all taken care of had new ones in weekish. I prep area before pit came so it went together perfectly. May 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Basic, easy to install, serves its purpose well. Product showed up on a pallet in setup formation. I just had to set it up again on my patio using the included construction adhesive. All the stones were in good condition. The steel inner liner is heavy duty (more so than expected) which was a nice surprise. There is a nice looking 'stone' cap available for this kit (not offered by HD) that I ordered from another retailer. This particular fire pit was setup with a propane burner. Everything went together nicely and I am enjoying regular fires on the patio. October 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Can't beat it! I love it! I had it shipped to my local HD store. It comes assembled on a wooden pallet. With a fork lift, the folks at HD loaded it into my pickup truck. Couldn't have been easier. Rather than digging a whole in my yard and filling it with stone to set the pit, I used 2"x16"-square pavers for a flat and level base. 16 pavers gave me a 64"x64" base on which to set the fire pit. It took about four hours, for two of us, to complete the project. The majority of the time was given to digging, leveling, sanding and setting the 16-inch square pavers. (Dug 2 inches deep, added one inch of sand for leveling and set the pavers about one inch AGL.) After that, the pit was erected in less than an hour. It comes with a steel fire ring that helps to perfect the radius of the pit, along with cement that assures the pit blocks will not shift out of place. Also included in the "kit" is a pair of heavy duty work gloves that were appreciated, but a little bulky for the work required. Don't leave The HD store without a large caulking gun. The tube of cement that comes with the kit will not fit in the typical household caulking gun. The weather in my area hasn't been real chilly yet, but I've used the pit a couple times. It works fine! Highly recommend it. October 21, 2014
