CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great alternative to running wires Very well made (it's the consumer version of the Hydro-rain HRC 990), easy to program, and beats the heck out of trenching and running wire for a temporary system or if you need to automate an existing system. I'd still recommend an indoor timer for new systems: It's kind of a pain to have to open the valve box to make temporary changes to settings (rain delay, extra watering during heatwaves, etc). No problems with the battery solenoids, but it is a shame you've got to buy the valves with the 24V solenoids and then throw those away and buy a whole new set when you switch over to a battery-operated timer. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Timer lasted one summer! I installed this valve and timer last summer. It was easy to program and price was OK about $65 (with shipping) However, after about a month, it turned itself on at unprogrammed times and ran for hours. I had to shut it off manually. Finally had to set it in the "OFF" position and operate the system manually for the rest of last summer. At start up this summer I installed a new battery and there was no display. So times, dates, start time etc. could not be programed. By the time this happened the unit was out of warranty. Poor quality for the price!! May 25, 2013
