Answer:
yes, we had 8' walls. you just load the drywall panel (upto 12'), maneuver it close to the stud wall and tip the sheet forward, crank it into place and screw it in. the hoist even has stopper feet, but we never needed them. very easy, even for 1 person.

Answer:
It can tilt only a little. You will need to make some form of adapter for that project.

Answer:
It will break down in 5 pcs. You can do it in about 2 minutes or less. I do not have a lot of space where I am working in my kitchen and must break it down every time I put on a sheet or two. I highly recommend this item.

Answer:
It breaks down into five different pieces. If you call 800-568-6657, you can request a manual to see the parts breakdown.

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 80 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lifesaver....Marriage saver! What a great purchase! Worked like a charm for my husband and I to put up a large basement ceiling together. It's very heavy and sturdy! April 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Never used one before- I used this one for 14' drywall and got the job done! Assembles quick, did what I needed. I have never used one of these before so I have no base of comparison for good or bad- I just know it got the job done for hanging 14' pieces of drywall to a basement ceiling- I hate mudding end joints. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One man Sheetrock team recently found myself with an extensive personal remodel that I would have to handle on my own. I hired (purchased) 3 integral helpers which saved my back. 1 st helper was this scaffold, 2nd was the Sheetrock dolly and third was the Sheetrock lifter. The work horses for me were the dolly and scaffold. The lifter didn't get as much work due to short lifts and no ceilings. The best purchases I've made in a while. I didn't use this as much on this job as I anticipate using in the future. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very sturdy The lift works great and is built very well. I have utilized to put up 4x8 OSB board in my garage and made the work a breeze. May 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Drywall hoist Hoist is well built, easily broken down, and mechanisms work smoothly. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great design! This device is well built and easy to use. It save a lot of manual and back wrenching labor. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Money saver This lift works great It paid for its self on the first job! No more needing to pay a Labor this lift turns drywall work to a one man job! May 1, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by REPEAT CRITICISM Be aware of the problem with the winch drum -- the cable winds nicely across the winch drum, into pressed in grooves, but when it gets to the end of the drum, it piles up instead of winding back across the drum. You cannot guide the cable back across the drum because of the tension on the cable from lifting the load. A LITTLE more attention to quality control would have brought the drum into proper alignment with the pulley on the lift [see instructions parts list page 11-12, part 43, the pulley on the "outer mast" directly above where the "slide bar" attaches to the mast] or vice versa. As it is, it is real problem. Here are comments from other purchasers: "It gets a 4 star because the cable keeps getting wrapped up in the wheel and i had to put a washer on the wheel so it dont do it any more. This lift works well, but only after I figured out how to keep the cable from binding on a ring that's poorly welded to the side of the take-up reel. The ring has a split that the metal cable catches on that would destroy the cable and make operation scary at best if not corrected. I found a thick tapered rubber ring from an old sink basin that I cut and placed onto the take-up reel to keep the cable from catching on that poorly installed ring. One of the welds on the guide ring for the cable, Is welded crooked and has already frayed the cable. The pulleys that the hoist cable runs through are plastic and are beginning to come apart. I would recommend for short jobs, but not for any lengthy jobs. Very disappointed in the craftsmanship for the price." SO, I HOPE THE MANUFACTURER LISTENS! Get the thing lined up with itself to fix this problem. And spring for metal pulleys. Lastly, I add that the welds look pretty minimal, and I don't have much expectation that I will not be calling in my welding buddy to have a go at it before all is said and done. April 25, 2016
