I'm afraid there is no information on the box with regard to the characteristics of the lamp. The box does indicate that questions can obtained at 1-800-555-0050 or www.philips.com

I don't know the actual physical size/configuration of your 55 gallon terrarium or how you would mounting the lights. Assuming that you want to provide light to all the plants to some degree and would be mounting them in an overhead position and far enough away from individual plants to avoid burning or drying them out, I would guess that you would need 2-3 lights. You might want to start with 2 and see Read More

Answer:
This light bulb will fit into most stand lamps depending on how you are planning to cast light onto your plants. I use a small floor "can" light which I bought at HD to cast the light up onto a plant that I have in a pot that sits next to it.

I have maybe 5 of these throughout, but what is strange is the last two I bought had a milky white face. There are not the blue face as you see in the picture and what my other lights are. I also tried a larger watt and it too was milky white: the 150 watt. I had only bought a 75 watt and it was blue also. Maybe they are changing? Have no idea why ??? So, I wonder now if it is more like a Heat Light instead of a grow light . Anyway, I augument these with a few grow lights in Led. Wish Philips made those too. Please respond if you know why changed color and if they are still effective.

If you are like me, you have plants and are able to move them from indoors to outdoors, then back indoors again. This type of lighting is integral for keeping all of your green friends thriving throughout the cold fall and winter months in Gotham! If you don't have plant lights and you don't have sufficient sunlight then your plant friends will not make it. Having these and the 75 watt Philips Agro-Lite will keep your green, leafy babies healthy and happy. Simple. Effective. Necessary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Low cost grow kit Needed a small grow light for a few plants. This light plus a small clamp-lamp for under $12 gave me an indoor starter site for under $20.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Inadequate I had come to Home Depot to get a 65 watt plant gro light reflector bulb to fit the portable fixture that came with my original light. Home Depot had a smaller 50 watt bulb and also a larger 100 watt bulb that was too big to fit into the fixture. So the 50 watt bulb was my only option at Home Depot. When the 50 watt bulb was used and placed 2 feet from the seed starter plants, it was so noticeably dimmer than the original 65 watt bulb that I returned the 50 watt bulb and bought the correctly sized 65 watt bulb someplace else. I have a hard time imagining a situation where the 50 watt bulb would be useful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What I needed It's a plant grow light. It comes on when I turn it on it turns off when I turn it off. When it is on it shines on my plants.
