This 34 in. Elizabeth Wood Burning Fire Pit has a natural slate tile surround with an elegant and timeless cast iron leg design will fit any outdoor patio. This fire pit has 3 different available functions including a wood grate to allow oxygen to circulate for a consistent fire and mesh spark guard to contain any sparks and a poker to tend the fire wood. Table use includes a steel table lid that covers the fire bowl to convert the fire pit into an occasional table and also helps protect the fire bowl from the outside elements when not in use. Grill use includes a 20 in. diameter chrome cooking grid perfect for grilling some hot dogs with your family or friends.

There is a domed screen cover to keep the embers from blowing out, but there is not a cover to protect against the elements of weather.

A mesh cover (to keep sparks from popping out) is included. A weatherproof cover is NOT included, but I would highly recommend buying one, even just a cheapie. We used a large trash bag for a few days until we had time to go buy a cover.

The instructions say yes, but I wouldn't. The cooking space is very small and only a few inches from the fire. I'd be okay with maybe hotdogs (since they're already actually cooked), but that's about it. Anything else is going to burn because it's too close to the fire.
