How do you secure the nylon thread on the tightening spool? It keeps coming off the spool when I try to tighten.

Style 1200 15 ft. Band Clamp is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Economical simple frame clamp So far I used this band clamp on one DIY 18-inch square frame, from picture frame moulding also bought at Home Depot. Once the shouldered metal corner brackets are in place, the clamp tightens and holds mitered corners square and tight. The removable corners are ideal for normal height frames, and also make the clamp available for more diverse projects. Since the inside metal corners are slightly rounded, I taped thin plates to each inside face, about 1/16-inch from the corners. It would be nice if Home Depot were to carry v-nails (e.g., Logan brand, for enforcing frame corners) that I found elsewhere with shipping expense.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for irregular shapes or picture frames Used this to repair a picture frame broken during moving. The corners all separated. Turns out the frame was made of a structured polystyrene foam. We couldn't find a picture framer willing to work on the frame. We used a small tube of construction adhesive, also purchased at Home Depot, and this band clamp. It comes with 90 degree corners and a locking ratchet. I applied even pressure all around and after 24 hours we had a perfectly repaired frame with picture hanging on the wall of our new home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great clamps for small jobs For the price, these are worth having around for small jobs like picture frames or cupboard doors. The 90 degree metal brackets are annoying to line up, but once you have them in place, the clamp tightens well and stays tight... so far. I have assembled a few mitered picture frames and 9 cupboard doors without a problem. I would not recommend using these for large, high pressure clamping jobs. They weren't designed for it. But for smaller tasks, these clamps provide a cheaper option and will do the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was exactly what I needed for making small boxes... This was exactly what I needed for making small boxes and doors. I get better results with the band clamp than I do with corner clamps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Painters I'm a collegiate art student and this band clamp works perfectly for when I build my canvases. The length (15ft) really allows me to build larger canvases with a secure way to hold them in place. I really like the little wrench and braces this particular clamp comes with, it makes it easier to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works very well for clamping wooden boxes for glueup. I have other more expensive and fancier clamps that do virtually the same thing. I needed a few more and ordered them online. Meanwhile I saw these and bought them. they work so well, I have bought more of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent band clamp needed a way to clamp a large 36x47" picture frame I was making and this clamp did a perfect job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Band Clamp/Build a frame Saw this as a right tool on and in his newsletter and I love this tool. This is easy to use, can be used for a bunch of different things - frames, weird shaped stuff (I do crafts and use it for triangles and circular shapes) and best of all it works. I got one for my dad too who builds display cabinets for collectibles and he isn't clamping or using vises to try to keep the cabinets together. LOVE THIS!
