Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Doug Had to adapt mounting brackets to use. No instructions provided.
Was intended for Sterling Model 500 shower door, or at least that was what we asked for. Mounting brackets were different from those illustrated in Sterling Shower door installation instructions. I had to modify both the brackets and the door to use the towel bar. No instructions at all were provided with the towel bar. Much extra time and effort, and special tools were needed to use the product.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DIYfan Only solution to my problem
Searched many websites for a shower door/handle. Finally find one on the HD site. I went to my local HD store and was told this item was only sold online. Shipped directly to store. Arrived fast. Some work must be done before installing. I had to file/sand down the brackets because the hole in my shower door was smaller than the bracket. I also had to cut down the shower bar from 32 in. to 28 in. Easy to install after that. Only wish screws were a bit larger. No washers included.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by handywoman This product required additional hardware.
The towel bar and brackets are very good. We were able to cut the bar to fit our doors and they are made for a higher quality glass door with predrilled holes so it ended up looking almost original. Problem: The kit includes one screw per bracket with no washers/spacers or escutcheon. You definitely want an escutcheon behind each screw and you may need spacers depending on the thickness of your glass compared to the length of the flange. We could not find spacers the same shape as the bracket. So, in the end we found an escutcheon that fit but had to use a round spacer behind a rectangular bracket which looks a little less that perfect.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Slick Cheap towel bar: lightweight
The towel bar was lightweight, not really a good grade of aluminum. The brackets fair, being too short. In addition to this, the screws were too short, for a good shower door frame. If you purchase these brackets, they do no set inside the shower door frame. They are not tapered, which does not make the brackets seat properly. I expected nothing more from Home Depot. I learned a lesson here. If you don't mind cheap, by all means purchase the bar and brackets. There are no alternatives in the marketplace, as only one supplier maintains inventory. I was forced to purchase. Then again, you could use shower handles, provided you did not drill 2 holes prior for the bar.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BigMug33 32 inch chrome towel-shower bar and bracket
This was the only towel shower bar and bracket we could find anywhere. I am so glad you had what we were looking for. Home Depot was the first place we looked and one of your store service people recommended we look on line. We had to do a little alteration to install the product, but that was incredibly easy. We bought a matching one for the outside door as well, so we have one on the inside door and one on the outside door. Thanks

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by steadfastrock not great, but all I could find
I have to agree with what another reviewer said about this...it isn't the best, but it was all I could find since this part can't be found in stores and this was the only shower door towel rack replacement I could find online. I used a bow saw to trim the bar to size and it worked just fine. One thing to note is that the peg that goes through the hole drilled in YOUR shower door may be smaller than the hole that is there so you may need a metal washer (not included) on either side of each end to keep the bar from sagging and cracking the glass. Also, the peg may or may not be a little longer than the thickness of your glass so, again, you may need a metal washer(s) to make up the difference. (Of course, this is a better alternative than having the peg be too fat or too shallow than the glass). All in all, I am glad to have a rack on the door, it looks fine and I am content with it. The depth of the rack is average, probably a little shallow compared to some but this is okay, especially if you have a small bathroom and don't want the rack to protrude too far out into the space of your bathroom.
