Customer Questions & Answers

How do you fix a leaky shower head?

Asked by: shadow
First shut off the hot and cold water water to the shower. Then then remove and replace the washers in the hot and cold water valve stems. If you have a "joystick" type control valve buy a kit for that brand of control valve and follow the directions in the kit. When all else fails go look at "U-tube" videos on how to do it.

I spent hours laying out my tiles and it just did not look right. After investigating my tiles and other things I found the size of the spacers varied from about ,0995" to about .1325". That is more than a 30% variance. Pick and measure these spacers before using.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Inconsistent sizes-thicknesses! I wish I had read the reviews before buying these spacers. I wish... Inconsistent sizes-thicknesses! I wish I had read the reviews before buying these spacers. I wish I had realized that the spacers were not all the same size as I was installing my tile. Check the photos I included and you'll see what I mean. If you have already bought a bag of these you will have to hand pick the ones to use to make sure they are the same size. If you have not bought them yet I'd suggest you shop for another brand.

I suppose it's way too much to ask for a tile spacer that is a true 1/8" by 1/8" or 3/16" by 3/16" they save money by slicing them thin the only issue with that is they are hard to keep in place and tend to fold over when you push the tile in place against the other tiles. The good thing about a true 1/8" by 1/8" spacer is you can put it in either on top of the tiles or down in the gap, but not with the cheap thin spacers HD sells. Garbage to work with

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Spacers are not all the same size. I'm glad these were a "just in case" add-on because the consistency between thicknesses is disturbing. A lot of them are cut on an angle so they were too thick on one side and too thin on the other. Would have been a lot of digging through the bag if I had really needed these.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Difficult product to use. 1/8 in. spacing turned out too close, and hard to keep the tiles in line. The soft plastic spaced at times woul give under compression ant throught the 1/8 in. spacing out of allignment. This is not an easy product for good result for novices. It probably works great for pros. The 3/16 in. product yielded much more a satisfing results, and was easier to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots for the price Just a simple solution to a hard problem of alignment. The only problem is you need to try and get these out before the become permanently glued to the mastic or whatever you're using to hold down your tile or you can have a real problem trying to get them out and my damage your work. Make sure everything is set and won't move but just not entirely at that permanent stage yet!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Soft material allows for inconsistant spacing I will not use these to install my tile floor unless absolutely necessary. (If I can't find harder ones) While dry fitting and spacing my tiles, I happened to notice that these spacers will "squish" and can be compressed. I am not sure, but they may be designed that way for ease of removal, but the problem remains, namely that you may get inconsistent spacing between your tiles, especially with larger 12x12 tiles that need to be "slid" into place. They also seem to be a little short for thicker 1/4" tiles. If your tiles are pillow topped (slightly rounded edges) they tend to fall over easier and need to stood back up. These things are fair at best. If you've never tiled before, I agree with the other reviewer. You should buy something else. The last thing you need is crooked grout lines. That would look terrible. Wouldn't it be better if you could tell everyone.... "Yes I did the tile myself !!!" and be proud of it?
