Customer Questions & Answers

Hello, I have a window that is 17 1/2 inches wide, I can't understand where it says window opening width and assembled width. Will this one fit?

The opening is the 17 1/2 so just want a small air conditioner. Thanks
Asked by: tinastj
Hi Tinastj, I have provided a link below to page 8 of the use and care manual, where it shows you the minimum window opening. When shopping on line, take a look at the installation/assembly guide or the use and care manual. In there you will find the minimum window opening requirements. Your opening is not wide enough for this model. http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/e0/e0a930a8-cc6e-4ba8-a6e5-6ee2e08157a5.pdf

Customer Reviews

5,000 BTU 115-Volt Window Air Conditioner with Mechanical Controls is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Satisfactory at best I wanted a small window a/c unit for a small room. This satisfies the requirement but doesn't cool nearly as well another older unit I have which is a similar capacity. I ordered this on-line and put it in the window, but I'd prefer one with an energy savings feature. This one runs all day keep the room cool. The pricing was high for such small unit, early season purchase = higher costs I guess.
