We love our rain barrel! This is the second one we purchased and it is great to water all my plants. We have one in the front of the home and one in the back! Saves me from using reclaimed water that isn't always the best for your plants. I have a solar home and this just add to being "Green." I love doing what's best for our environment.

Loved the rain barrel however I did spray paint mine and it does look much better. The diverted does not work well .The water comes out the top instead of in the barrel or out the downspout. I will have to replace it with one that works, very disappointed in that part!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ph123 Great addition to my landscaping!
I ordered this online and had it shipped to my Home Depot that I shop at. It is really beautiful! It has the look of clay but is actually a heavy duty plastic. It fit into my car and was lightweight enough that I didn't have any trouble handling it. (I'm a small woman!) The instructions are very easy to follow and the only tools I needed were a hacksaw ,a drill , a screwdriver and a level. It works perfectly and I really love the look of it next to my deck. I highly recommend this one! Thank you Home Depot! :~)

Just wish the planter built in the top were a little deeper.

I have purchase two of these rain barrels. I like the downspout diverter. It allows me to place the rain barrel in a spot of my choosing near the downspout instead of under it. Since the rain barrel fills up so quickly, having the downspout taking the overflow instead of an overflow drain on the rain barrel itself, keeps me from having a flood around the rain barrel. I like the planter, but with the shallow depth of the soil held in the top, you need to water often on hot days. This rain barrel looks like a terra cotta planter and it is attractive to have next to the house. Make sure you keep the barrel raised up off the ground for good water pressure when the barrel get low. You may want to change the cheap plastic shut off valve on the end of the hose with a good brass valve.

It's been a week since we installed our water urn and we couldn't be happier. Installation was relatively easy. It looks great on my patio. My gardener liked it a lot but didn't realize it was a rain barrel until I told him. We used two rows of decorative wall blocks to raise the urn about 8” inches. I believe it improves the water pressure coming out of the bottom hose. I also fashioned a hose hook using a wire hanger. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because we had to apply additional silicone around the hose bib. We had the foresight of testing it to check for leaks before allowing the barrel to fill up completely. Now it's working just fine. Overall, it’s well made and the terra cotta color is very realistic as you can see in the picture. Highly recommended. Besides, I knew that if I needed to return it, I could take it back to the local store. Something to think about when ordering something this big!

So far this rain barrel has been a great purchase. It was a little frustrating having to drill the hole to connect it but it is working great and full from last weekends rainfall. I wish the instructions had recommended building up the base to have better flow out of the rain barrel but that will be an easy fix eventually.
