Customer Reviews

Heavy-Duty 6.5 Amp Corded VSR Drywall Screwdriver is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Couldn't make it through one sheet of drywall I bought this screw gun thinking it would make my drywall job much quicker. It took a few adjustments to dial in the depth, that's expected. After setting a few screws it was out of adjustment again. Then the supplied bit started stripping screws, no problem, I changed it out. Before the first sheet was fully secured the clutch failed and would not engage no matter how much pressure was applied. Sometimes product reviews should be taken with a grain of salt, but this is one product to steer clear of unless you want to be left sitting on a stack of Sheetrock.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this gun if you are a professional The company I work for does a lot of framing and drywall in commercial settings. I, and two of my coworkers purchased these guns 3 weeks ago, that is 3 guns total that we bought. Gun number 1 - does not work right out of the package, and has yet to be used, the piston will not adjust so we cannot set the depth on the screws. Gun Number 2 - constantly hangs and sets its adjustment randomly so that after you adjust it, after driving 2-3 screws it will not sink them deep enough, then you have to readjust and have to start all over again. Gun Number 3 -My gun worked fine for three weeks at work, I brought it home today to hang some board in my basement and I cannot get it to adjust long enough to sink more than 3 screws. These are the worst purchases I have ever made when it comes to drills, I will not be buying any more rigid tools hence forth.

Because of the ICF wall the vinyl siding had to be screwed on. I needed a screw gun that I could control the tightness of the screw consistently for the vinyl to move. I came up with the idea of using a drywall screw gun. I purchased the Ridge Heavy duty VSR Drywall Electric screw gun and have been extremely pleased with the gun and I have achieved the consistency I desired and how tight to set the screws. There have also been area such as on the gables and parts of the garage where there was conventional framing and after using the Ridgid VSR Drywall Gun in those areas too I found the installing vinyl siding using the Ridgid VSR Drywall gun is actually faster than nailing and the ability to correctly set the screw tightness against the vinyl siding is much better than nailing. I also really like the belt clip. It has been very handy keeping it close and freeing up my hands when needed. I have also been impressed at how light and tough the Ridgid drywall gun is.
