This picture light is a cute gadget at a reasonable price - if you don't expect too much from it & don't mind replacing batteries often.
Opening the blister pack was the toughest of this project (they sure made the package 'escape proof'!) This light operates on 3 AA batteries (not included) and the remote uses a CR2032 button battery (included). At first, I thought the remote did not work, but then I noticed the small transparent tab and pulled it out so the battery could make contact. Since the batteries drain quickly, rechargeable ones may be the best idea. (Personally, I would prefer a wired light so I wouldn't have the 'battery hassle' - if I have to put a hole in my drywall to install, I could just as easily run a wire in the hole to hide the wires and have a more reliable light.)
-Reasonable price and looks good if you don't mind the uneven appearance
-Remote control to turn it on & off or to dim the lights is convenient
-Both light sections swivel about 180 degrees to shine either directly toward painting or half way around
-Gooseneck has swivels on both ends
-Can also be used as a bed lamp, or perhaps even sitting on a desk for a little extra lighting
-When level, the light bar sags on one side
-Not enough light to reach bottom of larger picture
-Gooseneck is not flexible, so it can't be moved closer or farther away in the center to soften the glare on the glass
-Dimmer resets to full light when turned off so adjustment needs to be done each time light is turned on
This light may work better on a much smaller picture that has no glass or plastic covering it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Saber Makes a great night light.
I got this for a picture in my office, but the LED lights were too bright, and bounced light off the picture. Making it non-viewable. Perhaps with a different type of picture. Then I put it in the living room over a tapestry that absorbs the light and it worked well. The added bonus? We can use it at night as a night light, then when you leave the room, use the remote to turn it off. It is a great idea. A bit large but good for an area that does not have power but you still want to light up. And the remote helps as you don't have to fumble up the wall to get the light on and off.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by tnahpele I have mixed feelings about this picture light
The picture light took less than 10 minutes to install. There is a separate mounting rail with built-in level that takes 2 screws to mount to wall, and then the light fixture slides over the rail. A paper mounting template is included but not really needed since the mounting rail also serves as the template.
The level built into the mounting rail was off slightly compared to my reference level. The included screws are tiny and seem ill-suited to use in drywall, but I tried them to see if they worked before moving on to wall anchors and surprisingly they worked fine. On my unit the head is tilted down on the right - see the photo. I tried to straighten it and didn't have any luck.
The light unit slides easily over the mounting rail, which is good since you have to take it off to change the batteries. I tested the run time with 3 rechargeable AA batteries and got about 10 hours on full brightness.
The light is bright and reasonably even - see the photo. The light pods on each side of the light bar pivot so you can aim the lights at the picture.
The remote comes with a wall-mountable plastic holster. There's a duplicate on/dim/off control on the light bar itself, so the remote is only useful when the light is mounted too high to reach otherwise.
The remote receiver is on the back of the light bar so the design counts on the remote signal bouncing off the wall/picture. The remote uses the easily obtainable CR2032 coin battery. You'll need a really small precision screwdriver to change it.
The light includes an extensive instruction sheet. I barely looked at it when installing and testing the light, but it is understandable and has useful information about not pivoting various pieces too far, where to wall-mount the remote for best results, and operating the light.
One unexpected benefit is it make a great night light in an otherwise dark hallway.
I have mixed feelings about this - it does its job, but the tilted head could be distracting in head-on placements. In my hallway it's not a big deal since you rarely look at it head-on. Also the remote seems superfluous. It works well, but if you can reach the light you can just use the control on the light itself. If you can't reach the light how are you going to change the batteries? One scenario would be that the light is out of reach but you only want to run it an hour a day. You would use the remote to turn it on and off and once every 10 days you'd have to get out the step stool to take down the light unit and change the batteries.

Item works great over the picture, as a display light. Love the fact that it is remote and has no wires. Just replace batteries when needed.

It would have been good if the batteries lasted longer and the rermote control actually worked. Very disappointed.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Anthony It's OK
Like all LED light products, it's not as bright as you might like. Works fine, is a snap to install, and it's nice that you don't have any wires to worry about. It does an OK job of adding some light to medium or small photos/art (I'd say maybe 16x20 size absolute max), but don't expect magic at this price point. It is fairly cheap looking, but gets the job done on a budget.

The reason that I would not recommend this product was that the remote did not work, if it had work I would have gave it a 5 & would not returned it.
