Product Overview

The Schlage Accent Satin Nickel Left-Handed Dummy Lever doesn't turn, and is commonly used as a decorative pull for doors that don't require latching. The accent handle is widely popular for its elegant wave-like design that effortlessly matches a room's style without overshadowing it, especially when wrapped in our versatile Satin Nickel finish. Plus, it's been designed and tested with strength and durability in mind, protected by a lifetime limited warranty for decades of dependable use.

  • Use with 1-3/8 in. to 1-3/4 in. door thickness
  • Guaranteed to fit on existing, standard pre-drilled doors
  • Lever design pairs well with traditional styles like antique furniture as well as more modern transitional styles
  • Finish coordinates nicely with satin nickel plumbing and lighting fixtures
  • Decorative dummy trim for use on 1 side of the door
  • Handing is required. To determine handing: with the door open, stand with your back against the hinge jamb. If your left hand is nearer the doorknob, the door is left-handed. If your right hand is nearer the doorknob, the door is right-handed
  • Easy installation with Phillips screwdriver (sold separately)
  • Universal latches slide easily into place and require no tools or manual adjustments
  • Mounting hardware included
  • Available in other finishes
  • Don't forget your door stops and wall protectors

Answer:
Hi builderB,
You may purchase left and right hand dummies. You will need to purchase one left and one right, if you want handles on both sides of the door.

I assume the screw placement is as shown on the picture. Above and below the handle as opposed to on the sides of the handle? We already have holes in the top and bottom and are replacing a similar handle. Didn't really want to drill new holes.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The product shown above is an inactive "dummy" handle. It does not turn, or operate a latch, and it is fixed to one side of a door. If you are looking for a "latch" as described above, you will require a passage set.

Can the dummy lever be used to replace an existing knob on an operating entry door handleset?

I have a Schlage Walden entry lockset (very similar to Plymouth style) with a non-locking thumblatch on the exterior and a round knob on the interior. The knob attaches with an Allen setscrew. I just need to change the interior knob to an Accent style lever. The passage set looks like it would work but I don't need an exterior lever, latch, or striker. Does the dummy lever have the receptor for a spindle and a set screw to secure the lever?

Answer:
no, the dummy is for looks only such as for french doors. It does not have the interior parts to function as a lock.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by dummies These match the operable locksets fine but could be much better without the exposed screws and with some sort of spring mechanism which would allow them to move like a normal lockset. Everyone's first inclination is to push down instead of just pulling. March 22, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great accompaniment to other handles. Easy to install, look great, and good addition to the doors. June 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect The door handle is for a "dummy" latch, meaning the door doesn't latch into a frame or another door. Husband installed easily. Ordered a left and right for a double door linen closet and they look very nice and coordinate in terms of color with my other bathroom fixtures. They are also quite sturdy and solid. March 15, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by It's painted, not oil rubbed bronze I bought these dummy handles to match the Schlage bath and door levers I bought for the rest of my home. The more expensive bath and door levers are a high quality oil rubbed bronze finish. These dummy levers match the style, but are painted a somewhat unattractive dark brown. If you are looking to use these dummy levers on their own, I guess they would work. But if you are looking for a match with the rest of the Schlage levers, this won't work. August 18, 2015
