Featuring durable metal construction, the SharkBite 1/2 in. Metal Pipe Support is compatible with PEX pipes. This pipe support is designed to be used with the fittings, valves, manifolds and accessories of the SharkBite barb connection system. Allows for 90 degree bends to be made with PEX tubing which can eliminate the need for additional fittings in certain instances.

      A:  Hello - Plumbing Codes do not specifically address bend supports. The only code provisions that would impact bend supports are the Building code with respect to fire rated assemblies and the mechanical code with respect to plenums. In both cases, since this product is non-combustible, it meets the requirements for both applications. Hope this helps and thanks for your interest in our products!

        not for tight spaces
        For being labeled as a 90 degree bend, it doesn't give a 90 degree bend as my picture shows. yes it is much cheaper and easier than a sharkbite 90 degree elbow and PEX will eventually bend to get that 90, but for a tight space I would not recommend this item. When replacing a hose bibb/sillcock, I needed a sharp 90 degree and this item didn't work as labeled.

        Works excellent!
        This is a great piece for turning the corner with flexible pex pipe. Just insert the pipe and you have a 90 degree corner. Looks great and holds the PEX perfect.

        23053 Metal Bend Support
        The minimum recommended bend radius for 1/2” PEX tubing is 5 inches. These provided a 2.5 inch bend radius. They should not be used. If forced, they are very difficult to install.

          READ THIS BEFORE YOU LAY ANY PIPE!!!! Learn from my mistakes.... Please, please please! I didn't know about this product until after I put in my water line. Unfortunately, I had a tough bend over a joist that I needed to protect the pipe from rubbing against. I thought that this would be a good idea to use, however, It's impossible to put this on once the pipe is up. Its a good product and serves a great purpose! I now know what to do for next time.... Good luck, my fellow amateurs.

            Cool 90 degree bend without a splice!
            Loved these, used them to route behind wall and didn't want a splice. These gave me a nice bend without kinking the line. Worked great, will use them again.
