1/2 in. x 500 ft. Oxygen Barrier Radiant Heating PEX Pipe

Frequently Bought Together

Product Overview

SharkBite PEX tubing is a cross-linked polyethylene tubing for a wide range of residential and commercial plumbing applications. Manufactured with an oxygen barrier for radiant floor and hydronic heating applications (available in orange). The oxygen diffusion barrier applied to the exterior limits oxygen permeation through the tubing wall in hydronic heating applications which prevents corrosion of ferrous metal parts in the heating system. A repeating SharkBite imprint pattern provides a visual aid to determine if the tube has been inserted all the way into the SharkBite Push-Fit Fitting. This feature only works if the tubing is cut between the SharkBite imprint pattern.

  • Strong, flexible, resilient pipe that provides superior temperature performance
  • Oxygen barrier helps prevent the corrosion of ferrous metal parts in the heating system
  • Flexibility reduces number of fittings needed to complete a job; reducing cost and leak points
  • Can be installed wet or dry for immediate pressure testing
  • SharkBite imprint pattern provides a visual aid to ensure pipe is fully inserted when using SharkBite push-to-connect fittings
  • SharkBite system provides a variety of connection options, SharkBite PEX can be connected with SharkBite push-to-connect fittings or barbed fittings
  • Manufactured and tested to meet or exceed the requirements of the ASTM F-876/877/2023 and CSA B137.5

We need this for a boiler to run water 300' underground at about 120 degrees F. to a radiant heated floor in an outbuilding. It will be installed in a conduit (2" Sched 40 PVC) with an electric power supply at 24" depth.

The orange PEX has a oxygen barrier coating on it, that the red, white, and blue PEX do not have. For radiant heating, you will need to use the orange oxygen barrier PEX to prevent any oxygen from permeating the system and causing corrosion on the metal components (i.e. boiler).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by this was exactly what I was looking for. this tubing will replace the existing tubing that was wrongly installed. June 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good PEX pipe this PEX Pipe was delivered to my door on time and in perfect shape, installation went smoothly and it passed the pressure test with no issues, I would buy it again when needed, February 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PEX Radiant tube The 3/4" PEX is tough to make sharp bends; i.e. small radius, but managed to create a nice radiant tile floor from below underfloor, between joists. January 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product We bought this product to install hydronic heating in the floor of our new basement. Product exceeded our expectations, was easy to use, would definitely recommend to others and would purchase product again. May 19, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product / easy to use. Used this product to make connections in existing hydronic heating system for additional baseboard heat. Used the clamp connections and some shark bite connections. You need the clamping tools for this. Can cut with a regular twist and spin pipe cutter but don't dig in too hard. Keep it warm as the colder it gets the hard it is to manipulate. Doesn't make 90 degree turns tightly, you need a good 12" -16" to make a 90. Just buy the 90 degree fittings if you don't have the space. December 11, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by radiant pex pipe Tubing was easy to manipulate. For my project 1/2" would have been good too. May 12, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent but beware Thie is some high quality PEX for heating application - but it is VERY STIFF - I had to use a blow dryer to get it to flex especially at 90 degree bends. Used with shark bite fitting to reroute a pipe the was running through my garage. So far working well. If you need PEX that's easy to bend try PEX-AL_PEX but I'm not sure where to get it. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't do it! This 1" PEX is nearly impossible to manipulate. If you are going with PEX because it is bendable - don't count on it with this size. I'm convinced there is no way to make this size PEX maintain any semblance of straight - it always wants maintain a curve from being coiled. It's not worth the frustration. December 3, 2014
