Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jimh Best PEX Crimper yet
I've been using a ZURN crimper for many years and was always looking for something easier to use.
This new crimper uses newer rings that are so much easier to us, and the tool takes up so little room and works perfect in tight areas. The other is you can crimp all sizes with the same tool.
I would recommend this to anyone that has used pex in the past and if you have another job, this thing is the best and it's cheap. I spent over 100.00 for the Zurn back in 2005 and it only crimps 1/2".
I added the photo of the manifolds using 1/2" and 3/4" rings. And these can easily be removed. Not so with the copper rings.

There are three ways to connect up PEX fittings. One stretches rings of PEX over your pipe and fittings, but you need an expensive tool for the job. Not appropriate for homeowners.
The other two methods are ring clamps and clinch rings. With the clinch rings, you need a separate tool for each size of pipe.
I chose to use ring clamps for the following reasons:
One size fits all-- This clamp tool fits all available sizes of ring clamps and therefore all sizes of pipe. I only need one tool in my kit.
Go-No Go--- when you clamp down on the rings, the tool grabs on to the clamp and you keep hauling on it until it ratchets down to the correct degree of compression. Then the tool lets go and you are done.
Ooops--- If you incorrectly join a fitting, you can easily cut away the clamps with your diagonal cutters whereas the clinch rings require a special tool to cut the rings.
The only down side I can see to the Ring Clamps is that they are a few cents more per clamp, but you'd have to install hundreds of fittings before the difference in cost was more than trivial.
I've used this tool for two years now to replace all the copper in my house, and also used it down in the dirt to replace a broken iron supply pipe with PEX. The tool is easy to use and has been completely trouble free.

I am very happy with the SharkBite clamp tool and rings. Was very easy to use but after working all day it does become harder to clamp the rings after doing 20+ connections. I was a little worried because the fittings are able to spin after clamped, but after looking it up that was a feature of the product.
Been a couple of days so far and no leaks, will continue to use the clamp rings. The job was done way faster than CPVC or copper.
USA made was a plus as well!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PropDog Great way to do plumbing projects!
I really like using the crimp ring system and PEX for my plumbing projects now. So darn easy, and no leaks! The clamp tool works great, and I have had no problems what so ever with any connections I have made with the tool. You do have to pay attention to working in tight spaces though, as the tool handles have to open all the way to get onto the clamp ring. Sometimes working between joists you have to think ahead so you can make all of your connections.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bill Clamp tool works great
I'm a long time DIY copper user, however, I thought that I'd give PEX a try. I had zero issues with the connections that I made using this tool. I was able to redo the majority of the plumbing in my basement within a day. I will caution that this tool is not for the weak. After a few clamps, I became tired... mostly from working over my head. The tool requires a great deal of force to clamp down, but fortunately it is a ratcheting type, so I could take time to regain my strength during the process without any issue.

The clamp is very simple to use especially for a novice plumber like me. It makes me look like I have been doing plumbing for years.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by jakedee okay on 1/2" clamps, handle flex on 3/4" clamps
Shark bite pex clamp tool, orange handles. Very expensive hand tool. Worked on a few 1/2 clamps good, but on 3/4" clamps it was hard to operate (too short of handles). it took a lot of force to full crimp the bands and the handles would flex (slightly bend) expected better quality and easier function for the price. May return for a better tool.
