That will work but make sure that the bolts are not to large and insure that they grip a fixed stud or flooring!

Answer:
Beachbum,
I am not clear if you are referring to the bolt to the post or to the concrete. The bolts for the post (quantity of 2) would be 1/2" diameter (or you have the option of using a quantity of 12 -16d common nails). A 5/8" diameter bolt is required for anchorage to the concrete; the anchor bolt type, length and embedment must be determined by the designer.
Thank you!

Answer:
We actually have an Engineering Letter on our website detailing this connection (document L-C-ABUBEAM15), but with the ABU46Z rather than the ABU44Z; please see this document to evaluate if it meets your needs. The ABU46Z requires a 5/8" diameter anchor, but it would be up to the Designer/Engineer of Record to specify anchor bolt type, length and embedment. Thank you!

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Way overpriced for what they are. At over twenty dollars each, these should be way more ruggedly built, and have a much higher quality galvanized finish. I replaced a half-dozen of these for a customer who couldn't believe that the last ones had only lasted six years before literally rusting to pieces. I would have rather used a different product, but this was all that was available at H.D. September 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great quality Made it so easy to attach this post base to the cement October 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good enough Easy to install. The price is competitive with other stores. Good quality though. May 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to work with These bases get the job done. easy to work with, strong, simple to install. April 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The standoff feature allows for repositioning the post easily. Setting the post and aligning it perfectly is simple with the ability of the standoff to move without getting in the way of the holddown nut. Great feature! May 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy instalation This product was exactly what I needed and was easy to install. July 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works great easy to install with sleve anchor and holds post very solidly. Did not use the bold option to secure post, I used decking screws. worked well. April 17, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A good product A bit pricey, but rock-solid when used with the proper anchor bolts in concrete. These were used to mount a decorative railing on a slab porch. July 3, 2012
