About This Product

Not only do angles make joints stronger, they also provide more consistent, straight corners. Simpson Strong-Tie offers a wide variety of angles in various sizes and thicknesses to handle light-duty jobs or projects where a structural connection is needed. Some can be bent (skewed) to match the project. For outdoor projects or those where moisture is present, use our ZMAX zinc-coated connectors, which provide extra resistance against corrosion (look for a "Z" at the end of the model number).

Highlights

  • Versatile connector for various 90-degree connections and home repair projects
  • Stronger than angled nailing or screw fastening alone
  • Help ensure joints are consistently straight and strong
  • Made from 18-gauge steel
  • ZMAX galvanization offers extra corrosion resistance for exterior and treated-wood applications

  • Install with 10d x 1-1/2 in. nails or #9 x 1-1/2 in. Strong-Drive SD screws

Q:Can i nail through theses?
by|Sep 15, 2023

Answer This Question

A:  Hi Troy, thank you for your message. This is Ricardo with Simpson Strong-Tie. I can only assume you mean nailing through the steel which would not be allowed and void any value or warranty on the part. I can only recommend you use the correct fasteners through the pre-punched holes that come with the A21 clip. If you need more information or have additional questions, please contact the Simpson Strong-Tie Customer Service team at 800-999-5099. We look forward to hearing from you.

      Q:whats the difference between a23 and a23z?
      by|Jun 8, 2022
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Hello jake, This is Colin from Simpson Strong-Tie. The difference between A23 and A23Z is the layer of sacrificial zinc on the part. A23 has the lower, interior grade galvanization only suitable for a dry interior installation not in contact with most pressure treated lumber. A23Z (Zmax finish) has a heavier layer of zinc suitable for a wet or exterior installation and/or contact with most pressure treated lumber. The A23Z can be used indoors or out. The required fasteners and published allowable load values remain the same. For more information enter A23 in the Search Strongtie field in the upper left corner at strongtie.com. If you need more information or have additional questions, please contact the Simpson Strong-Tie Customer Service team at 800-999-5099. We look forward to hearing from you
