Answer:
Your assumption is correct. Baseboard can be made any length but it becomes un-ship-able after 8'. So if you need a 9.5' piece, for example, you would use two 5' pieces and cut 6" off one of them. Slant Fin baseboard 5' and longer come with a connector to link them together.

Home Depot sells enclosure only; meaning baseboard minus the element. The purpose of this product is not to re wrap existing element but is often re purposed for that. It is not easy but often people attempt it as they don;t want to cut the pipe and drain the system. You need to measure your current elements to make sure the enclosure only can accommodate it. Hi, could you please check whether the price $67 for 7Ft is correct? The 8Ft price is $53. So it does not make any sense.

Forgive me as I work for the manufacturer and not the retailer so I can not definitively explain there pricing policy and can only speculate. The 8' is a standard stock item in most of there North East stores where as the 7' is kind of an oddity so I would assume it is due to processing. More important you should know that baseboard can be cut. I know of many plumbers who buy only 8' pieces and just cut it to the exact size they want. So if you have a 7' need you could buy the 8' and cut it. If you have further hydronic question you are welcome to give me a call at 978 651 3301. Thank You Chris Read Less

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The new cover makes the bathroom look a lot cleaner. it was easy to remove the old cover and put in this new one. No matter how often we cleaned that old rusty baseboard always made our bath seem dirty. Three hours on Saturday, about $100 (we also got two new ends), a video on youtube that walked us through how to do it and BAM! What a difference. May 1, 2013
