Product Overview

The Spectracide Ready-to-Use Weed and Grass Killer is the quick and easy way to get rid of unwanted grass and weeds around your home landscape. Its fast-acting formula begins working immediately to kill all types of weeds down to the root. It can be used on driveways, around gardens or along foundations and comes in an easy-to-use pump sprayer that delivers up to five minutes of continuous spray. As a non-selective herbicide that will kill any vegetation contacted, it enters plants through the leaves and moves down to the roots to ensure the entire plant is eliminated. Because the product has no soil activity, it will not affect nearby untreated plants, keeping the rest of your landscaping safe.

  • Kills over 155 types of weeds down to the root
  • Ideal for use on patios, walkways and flower beds
  • Rain-fast in 15 minutes for control that resists washing away
  • See results as fast as three hours
  • Avoid direct spray or drift onto desirable plants, lawn grasses, shrubs and trees
  • Protect desirable plants and vegetation with a piece of plastic or cardboard; if accidentally sprayed, wash immediately with water

Answer:
Yes it is safe, although you would not want them directly in the way. Perhaps it would be better if you spray and give it an hour to dry before allowing your pets to roam in those areas, possibly in the evening when there will be less activity. Allow the product a chance to dry and soak in the area.

I would give it a week to settle into the weeds to be killed...The fence line should be no problem but if you intend on using it on a lager scale my recommendation would be to keep pets and children away.

Until it has dried, keep kids and pets indoors. If your pet eats grass as a habit, use the parts of the yard you have not sprayed for atleast 1 week

Answer:
Hi, Norm. You can use Spectracide Weed & Grass Killer in the lawn if you have pets. You'll want to keep your pets inside while you're spraying, though, and wait until the spray is completely dry before allowing them back outside. Drying time depends on how heavily you spray and how warm it is, but we recommend waiting a few hours before reusing the lawn as usual.

Answer:
Hi Green1,
Dicamba, the broadleaf weed killer in this cocktail of herbicides, lingers the longest of those in this product. It will dissipate within a few weeks of application, depending on rain fall and soil type.
4 to 6 weeks will allow the product to dissipate before seeding in most soils.

Lawn yes, trees maybe saplings but not meant for that. I use it to kill the overgrown Bermuda grass in my yard, But I have never tried to kill even a small tree with it. Better products, specifically designed for that use. I always ask a garden specialist for help with that.

Answer:
Yes, this is a non-selective herbicide, so it will kill the weeds you spray as well as grass. You should not use it on your lawn or allow spray to drift onto desirable plants or trees. If you're looking for weed control that you can apply to your lawn and not harm the grass, please take a look at Spectracide Weed Stop for Lawns products (also available at Home Depot).

No, probably not. We suggest using a commercial moss killer or mixing a 1:1 solution of bleach and water, then scrubbing with a mop or broom.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Works slowlyTook a few days to work. It seemed to kill most weeds but grass grew right back. This product doesn't work as fast as others. the sprayer is weak and hard to get primed. It did kill most of the weeds I sprayed, however, the grass all grew back. Wasted a lot of my time. May 9, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Weed Killer Didn't see the results in 3 hours as stated, 1 day August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Work better than Round Up I've had great success with this product. Kills weeds and grass in one application. You can see the results within a day or two. Kills down to the roots. I added bonus, it is half the cost of Round Up. July 26, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good product with bad dispenser The product is very good. But the dispenser is not the best for big areas of grass. July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by About the Spray Nozzle I, too, had a problem with the spray nozzle. The herbicide would not come out. Either coincidentally or because of what I did, after I unscrewed and lifted the cap, I immediately was able to use the sprayer. I screwed the cap back on and went to work. I applied the weed and grass killer only a few hours ago so cannot vouch for its effectiveness. Should it be necessary to repeat the application on a monthly basis, that's certainly more agreeable to me than scooting around on the ground on a weekly basis with a trash bag in one hand and screwdriver (to cut roots) in the other! June 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Product This grass killer is awesome! This was my second time purchasing it. I went back and purchased some more for myself and my mother. It works quickly and get the job done! July 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It works well It kills weeds and grass as stated. It doesn't take effect within ours like Roundup which is a lot more expensive and doesn't have the battery operated sprayer. But in a day you will see the results and in a few days they are just dead. July 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't seem to work I have used other weed killers in the past with amazing results. This one was cheaper, so I thought I would try it. I sprayed the weeds liberally, but to no apparent affect. July 19, 2016
