How to install the casters?

There are no directions included; and it seems self explanatory but nothing I try is getting the casters to stay in after you add the seat. The casters don't go all in the way in; they are not flush to the frame (see picture). Can anyone help?

Answer:
It took a lot of muscle. really cannot hammer them in. Best not use your weight to sit on it until the casters are all the way in. Maybe lubricate them with a touch of petroleum.

Answer:
The casters have to pressed in with a good amount of force. They will sort of "pop" into place.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heavy duty. Heavy duty and comfortable. Bought this for my 300lb. Plus husband to use when working on vehicles however I find I use it more for my furniture refinishing business. Adjustable height and portability make it easy on my back etc. don't have to stoop over. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good chair It is a good chair. It is built tougher than most of the others. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best seat ever The best shop seat anywhere. After 41 years of being an industrial mechanic my friend and myself worked together for many years. We work in shop, traveled in our truck. we had the seat everywhere we went. It got tossed in the bed of the truck many times. Never failed with its ability to work or its comfort. I even have one in my shop at home. If you want the best buy it. January 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hijacked it from the garage & I'm keeping it Many uses outside of shop. I use it as a computer and a kitchen prep seat. Handy when someone joins me in the kitchen but I need them to stay out of the way. Extremely sturdy. September 16, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unable to assemble due to no directions & misssing parts This shop stool came without directions for assembly, and also, I believe, missing parts. I returned it to the Ankeny store, where a man from Hardware spent more than 45 minutes trying to find a manual on line (no luck), and worked to put it together. Parts included (1) the seat; (2) the shelf; (3) 4 castors; (4) stem connecting seat and shelf. However, it seemed to need something to attach the stem, and to allow the height adjustment to work. The first one I ordered came in a damaged box, and so I thought perhaps the directions and additional parts had come out. So, I ordered a second one, and it had the same contents. Both were packed in a generic box, not specific to the stool -- did that contribute to this problem. The people at the Ankeny store were very helpful, but I was very disappointed in this process, and, as it turned out, very high hassle with no shop stool October 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Adjustable Shop Seat Received this seat as a gift from my wife. Love the seat ... and my wife too!! I do all kinds of work on old aircraft engines and this makes it much easier. I can set the seat as high or low as I need it so my neck does not hurt bending down under the engine. The shelf under the seat is great for small items and tools, so I don't have to get up and go looking for parts. Very sturdy rollers for smooth motion. January 25, 2011
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by SERVES IT PURPOSE Since I have had the chair now for a couple months it has been adequate. One of the leg welds down at the base has broke and one of the wheels keeps falling out of the hole. And the seat it not quite large enough for me. True, I am a large person but if they are going to rate the chair at over 600lbs they should supply a seat large enough to handle a person of that size. July 4, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what we needed. great seat/chair for a workshop environment. shipped very quickly and arrived without damages :) November 5, 2013
